My first issue with my scooter was that the gas gauge does not work. This is a mostly cosmetic issue and did not bother me because it seems like a common issue with scooters. The second issue after i had already once ran out of gas, was that after I filled it with gas, it would try to turn off if no gas was given while sitting idle (at stop signs and stop lights.) To prevent this i increased the pressure on the throttle while sitting in one place. This seemed to help until I noticed that when I am slowing down (this does not only include using break, includes simply letting off the gas and losing momentum), that there is a very distinct popping sound. It almost sounded like metal being struck together causing a spark? my friend who was riding with me at the time and has no knowledge of bikes or scooters (like myself) described the noise as running over a plastic cup. The noise only occurs during the speed range of 30-20 mph it does not occur before 30mph or after 20mph. This made me think that maybe there was a problem with the chain switching gears (if that is even a thing) or possibly an issue with the gear itself. The next issue that occurred was not starting (right away) the past 4 times i have tried to start the moped, (keep in mind that it has started each time) but I had to hold the starter for close to a full minute and floor the throttle as much as i could, revving the engine as much as i could until it would start. The last issue occurred this morning, it did the same thing while starting it, but once it started, it was leaking fuel VERY fast, to describe the amount in a way that you could envision, it was like a stream of water that you could get out of a water faucet attached to the front of a fridge (the front part that also dispenses ice) Since it was leaking at such a fast rate I decided not to drive it. If you have any suggestions I am open to all. I have not yet opened it because I am trying to look at pictures and videos to understand the structure of the engine. I have ZERO prior knowledge of scooters or even cars, and there are less than 1500 miles on my 2011 BMS legend scooter. PLEASE HELP!!
