Hi guys I'm guessing you have done the no spark thing to death already but i really need some help with this one if you wouldn't mind. Ok so ive bought lexmoto fmx 125 2016 as a none runner for my son thinking stick a cdi on it and away he goes... not the case!!! the story so far...
I have 50 to 60 ac volts on the black/red wire on the 2pin plug at the cdi when cranking (so have ruled out the stator/magneto side of things)
Black/white wire on 2pin plug at cdi looses earth when cracking (so have ruled out faulty kill switch)
white/red wire appears to be pulsing when checking for resistance (so i have ruled out pick up sensor)
tried a coil and spark plug off his 50cc and still no spark.
now for something weird, having checked on the net it seems the top right pin on the 4 pin plug is to energize the coil however on my scoot there was no wire in it and the black/yellow wire is in the bottom left position (has anyone even seen the wire in that position before?), i have swapped the wire across but still no spark. so now i'm really confused as to the correct position of the black/yellow wire to the coil.
If it makes a difference to anything the replacement cdi was a blue new racing one as CMPO had no stock of original.
any advise please as i'm at a complete loss (and look a bit silly in front of my son who thought i knew what i was doing)
