I decided to rebuild the engine myself. I'm not a bonehead. I know enough to do some research for this. I'm buying a bbk with matching head and a A9 performance cam witch comes with 3 different jets to match up the engine components. I know the crank also needs to be matched up also. I need to do a little research on that too. That will be my next project. At least I know the bbk will be done right. I don't beat on my scoot so I don't think it will blow up. The crank will be my next winter project. This is my first scoot and rebuild but Im confident about my automotive skills. Any input I will very much appreciate it. I listen to good advice and love knowledge. So hit me up with the advice I'm lovin it. Thanks so much!! Mark

Does anyone know of a 125 cc that will bolt on the 50cc taotao without rewelding different brackets on the frame? Im short and the 50cc is barely doable for my height. I don't know how much the external size differs.

I found out they charged me $400 to put a 50mm piston in and no matching head because I never rode or knew anything scooters.And then had the balls to charge me $ 100 to re- jet my carb the fucking scumbags thats x t ream toyz in Dracut, MA.for the future unsuspecting!! I'm going to rebuild it myself with a full kit and use it a while and get a 150cc moped. At least I won't feel bad selling a scooter thats going to blow up.I'm just looking for a good quality kit to use in it.If you know some excellent brands to purchase buy all means let me know.I don't want any overpriced products under my balls when I'm riding. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. I truly do appreciate it.Maybe at some point I can help a new- b like myself not get ripped off.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I had the store that I bought the moped at install the 100cc kit. I got no info about it from them, and expected much better performance seeing that the cc,s were doubled.It's a atm 50a 139qmb.So I don't know yet if the head and piston were changed or just the piston.I want this scooter to Rock.Any cost effective applications are welcomed!!

I have a taotao atm50A 139 QMB. What should I gap the intake and exhaust valve at.I have them both gapped at .o04.I had the 100cc big bore kit installed. It starts and runs smoothly no tapping noise. But it lacks mid to high range power. I had a performance muffler on it and it was backfiring and stalling so I put the stock exhaust back on and a stock carb.I have the original carb that was rejetted should I reinstall that with a cone airfilter to get my mids and highs back?
