So here is an update to the 2015 Taotao 50cc (all original, no mods) on this thread. (Winter too cold to work in an unheated garage). Replaced the following: Recitfier, carb, piston and rings, battery and started, Oh and fresh gas. Still having the same problem. Thought maybe it was compression, hence the piston change. Made sure it was TDC so hopefully no timing issue. Have not tried yet replacing the CDI, starter relay or ignition coil yet. Possibly this weekend. Other than the last 3 things, anyone have any ideas as to why this is ongoing? Oh, replaced the headlight bulb with an LED one and no problems there anymore. Not sure if the current CDI is the right one, currently has the 8 pin(?) one that lokking around looks like the one for a 150cc. All the 50cc ones look to have either a 2 pin or 4 pin.
