Thank you terrilee I live in Washington , 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. Thank you too Bandito, I found another vacuum petcock I can use if the one on the tank I bought doesn't work. I'll have to take the one on the tank apart and take the stopper out of it so the fuel will flow to the other pet cock. Thank you for the reply.

Hello from Southwestern PA. I recently bought a 1984 Yamaha Riva 180 Z from a friend. I'm in the process of working on the cold starting problem.
The first problem I found was the vacuum operated fuel pet cock is bad. As some of you my know that part is hard to find. I just bought a complete fuel tank with the fuel cock and fuel gauge sending unit. The seller said he didn't know if they worked.
Can any one tell me how much vacuum pressure is required to open the fuel cock? I have a vacuum pump to check the fuel cock but I don't want to put to much vacuum to it and damage the diaphragm.
