Thanks for the suggestions. ricardoguitars: I'll investigate the petcock and the entire fuel line today. as for vacuum leaks, i've looked at the intake manifold and the vacuum line going to the petcock (they seem to be the only vacuum lines) and they seem fine (ie: no cracks or anything, good seals around connecting areas). do you think maybe i should replace the manifold and hoses anyway just to be sure? it seems fairly cheap to do so, so its not a big deal cost wise.
toddmaples: I warmed up the engine to operating temperature (i have a temp gauge on the cylinder head) before setting the mixture and idle speed. thanks anyway though.

Hi. I have a problem with my scooter and i was wondering if any of you had any ideas that may help.
Its been running fine up until about 2 weeks ago when it started stalling when i stop at lights (only 50% of the time). It runs perfectly fine when im moving, but when i come to a stop, it idles perfectly fine, consistent rpm for about 15-20 secs, then it just dies. as if i've flipped the kill switch. I can immediately start it back up and it works fine from then on out. It only does it after i've been moving then come to a stop. when i start it back up, it keeps idling fine.
I've cleaned the carb, set the idle mixture properly, and the idle rpm is around 1700. i've replaced the sparkplug and checked the battery (it was fine, good voltages) and it still does it.
The scooter is a GY6 139QMA with a 47mm big bore (everything else stock).
I'm kinda at a loss here. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this, i would be really grateful. Thanks.
Edit: i thought i should mention, i've checked the valves and they're at 0.003" intake and 0.004" exhaust. same as i've always had it.
