My info on the Accord UEX I researched on a Japanese forum accessed by my local Honda dealer. Such sites DO exist and the UEX is a favorite, elusive subject. There are only a handful of these UEX racers around, and estimated less than 5 street-converted and licensed in USA... Period. It is what it is. Every tuner kid around knows what it is by the identifiable parts, from the wheels, to the brakes to the horsehide drivers seat and would like to buy it. The dealer would also like to get hold of the car.
You KNOW damned well you weren't "calling me out" to race. Adults don't do that unless they're idiots. You want a confrontation in-person. Bad idea for either of us, but it is what it is.
I don't know where you got yourself elected to be the BS police here, but your "calling BS" on other's threads is neither appreciated nor welcome.
For a year I've been cordial to you. I've tried to get along and you rub my nose in it. You got my sweet 86 year old Wife to refuse to watch this forum with me and trashed a sincere thread posted for my friends. Nothing I've posted is incorrect except for the "from memory" specs on my chopper motor. THOSE I corrected for YOUR benefit, AS YOU WELL KNOW.
I have NO obligation to EVER explain myself to you over ANYTHING but have, just so my friends can see how wrong you are. No Japanese collector site? BS. Triangle had no forge or casting facilities? BS. Triangle resided in a 1920 era forge and made their own cases, heads, stroker cranks, valves, etc. and made legendary linkert HD carb conversions, fully adjustable externally which was real handy when changing to straight-pipes at the strip.
Keep on hijacking others' threads if you want. Don't expect me to straighten you out. You don't deserve the courtesy. So your piston business doesn't exist? Cool! Now others can call BS on YOUR threads... LOLOLOL! ---------------------------------------------------------------- In your defense, your Mom looks like a nice lady. I have nothing but respect for the elderly. And for Slovaks in particular. My top-kick and I ferreted a Czech couple into Germany under the noses and guns of border guards. Special people, special mission. Tell your Mom thanks for the compliment on me looking so thin! Sorry though, a couple months after that picture, I weighed in at Fort Leonard Wood at a tad over 370.
Now once more, I am asking in a polite way to stay OUT of my threads. They are FACTUAL. They are INFORMATIVE, they are strictly for fun, not bragging and they are enjoyed by my friends.
This garbage is no longer good-natured fun. It's offensive, insulting and unnecessary.
You can't say I haven't tried.

And of course, the most important part of my life for the past 36 years next to the Good Lord IS my sweet Wife, Betty. Below, we share the wedding cake in Betty's house where we tied the knot back in 1983... Seems like yesterday.
Wish it was.The finest true-blue human-being I've ever known. She always has my back, and I always have hers. She never got into bikes, but did meet some of my riding pals who've passed on now. Her favorite "tale of the past" was Little Jan drag-racing "Old Blue". Could be she doubted it until my pals who were there told her about it. I still chuckle remembering her wide-eyed questions to "Mustang Jim"... She REALLY raced in just her UNDERWEAR?... Ah, YES! And Leo APPROVED?... Ah, well, the whole doggone grandstand APPROVED! Standing ovation... LEO! YOU were a very BAD BOY! Ah, well, if YOU say so! But honey, Jan won us SO much money on that race! You're STILL a bad boy. Betty's first husband was another "real man" who liked to get with people he disagreed with and insult them in-person. A really dirty fighter, too... Liked to pick a fist-fight and then pull a knife. Before she finally got the nerve to leave, he knocked out most of her teeth, broke her nose and did similar to her kids. The years have been less than kind to us, but with love, it all works out.
That's us at our Grandson's wedding in Houston... Since then, Betty's had a heart attack and a stroke, and I've had a stroke... I'll not bother posting pix of the old Suzuki, the bagger or my pet Honda Accord... You've all seen them on other posts. I'm ending the trip down memory lane here. Betty was enjoying it as much as I have but the hijacking of the thread has ruined it... Betty and I have never had so much as one argument in 36 years, and now she cries at night over the trashing this thread has generated... and ALL over stupid things that aren't even pertinent to today, AND were absolutely factual to begin with.
When lowlifes unwarrantedly attack either of us, it affects the other in terrible ways. She won't watch the forum anymore with me. Can't blame her. Thanks a lot, Mr. BS police. Be real proud of yourself. Anyway, for what it's worth, that's the abbreviated history of the Old Chopper Guy...Ride safe, and enjoy your memories.

Not all the OCG's favorite rides were on TWO wheels... Or ANY wheels at all...I had this sweet little Chevy pickup with matching outboard boat when Betty and I got married. This pic was taken the day before our wedding! We honeymooned camped out at Lake Grapevine. Those were some great days... I was doing award-winning creative as head of an ad agency I formed in-house within a major savings & loan, and the Missus and I were about to embark on a 36 year adventure!

Old Blue was a real looker, even if it was red. I bet you wish you could have kept the Porsche 356. A body kit for a 356 replica costs 20 grand these days.Chassis and mechanicals are extra. Old Blue looked better in blue... LOL! And with her new motor, was a LOT faster! That old Porsche 356B was FUN to drive. Only had about 60hp if I recall, maybe not even that much but would do an honest hundred absolutely wound up tight. It would however, cruise ninety all day on the Autobahn! Not that ninety was enough... LOL. One of the "adventures" of driving the Autobahn back then was doing ninety, coming up on an ox-cart doing 5mph with a Ferrari coming behind doing one-fifty... Cheesh! Talk about being between a rock and a hard place! That happened to me just once (and once is enough)… I went around the cart on the shoulder, the Ferrari went around everybody in the left lane... And... back THEN, Germany, like Texas, allowed drinking alcohol while driving. German Autobahns and Texas freeways WERE the most dangerous roads around back then. All changed nowadays of course. Autobahns safest highways going... And Texas? Well, outlawing drinking while driving didn't change much... LOL! Ride safe, Leo

And in the end. Im comin for ya. Im a real man and I will save any direct character assignation or insults to your face. You your mouth and the 500hp "Little Hamster" to Luna road. Only on Luna road as your Trailer park under DF dub has the largest concentration of Sex offenders in Grapevive Texas. This is no longer funny. You called me a SOCIOPATH on ScooterRebels and that crossed the line, not only morally but legally. I forwarded that to my attorney and after laughing at the stupidity of it, asked if I'd like to own a business selling pistons. He also advised me take you as a personal threat and act accordingly. Advice duly noted and taken. Now, real man... So you're coming for me and post it on a public forum? At 71, I certainly don't street race except for fun stuff with the locals, I'm too old for hand-to-hand combat anymore, so I assume you want a lethal confrontation. OK. I no longer consider you simply a pest, but a threat to me and my family. THAT is a whole different situation. You've pushed the envelope way beyond what a stable person ever would. I don't know what is wrong with you, hijacking others' posts to start a feud, but YOU started it. YOU escalated it beyond all common sense. I take it seriously. Moderators please take note. This is no longer funny. No smiley faces, no trash talk, no joking. Either muzzle it, or this idiot is bound to pay me a visit, and it's going to end very permanently for one of us. That is fine. But it's not something I encourage or look forward to; just unpleasant business that can't be avoided... nor is this trash fit for a family-friendly public forum. Leo PS: for the record, you once again got it wrong (about the car). Lil' Rhonda is downtuned to 256hp as I've also mentioned in past posts. However, you do have it right about the sex offenders in my park. I've checked that out too. Congratulations on getting something right. and I'll gladly deal with them every time over dealing with your kind.

Meanwhile UncaLeo, please do keep telling us your memories and stories. I might not understand any of what you tell about the mechanics, but I sure am enjoying the pics and the non-mech parts. Although I'm curious about those really long extended tailpipes on "Old Red/Blue"--why?? And I agree, that Harley really was purdy. Did those little chrome duo-bars around the fenders have any actual purpose, or just to add to the purdy? >'Kat, still not wearing her dog-mask while driving ANYthing!! Nor my Walmart mask (yes, I actually do own one, which is getting remade into a Krypto the Superdog head!) Kat, I don't understand anyone hijacking other's threads to trash them. I don't do that and nobody should. My "friend" relishes in trashing me because my earlier posts on the chopper included incorrect approx. dimensions from 50-year old memory. That's why I looked up the TRUE dimensions of both the Harley parts and the old Chevy 409 parts... JUST TO PREVENT THIS GARBAGE. And as you say... I don't care... NOBODY cares including me except I'm sick of being called a liar. Ah, the weird long exhausts... I did NOT build that monstrosity... LOL! Bought it that way as "raw material". I have NO idea why the original owner fabbed up those pipes, or the Brooklyn Bridge sissy bar. I liked the old Hog much better without them. The chrome bars on Harley dressers were actually to protect what's under them... They worked (sorta) but really were more for "bling"... Like the tailfins on a '59 Caddy. Please post pix of the new dog-head! And ride safe! Leo

OK, here it is for the LAST time!My older posts were best-guess stats from memory fifty years ago. None of my friends care if they were not absolute... They were not exact and BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU I researched the net for the EXACT dimensions. What IS it about you that you can't treat members with any respect? FOR THE LAST TIME... The ORIGINAL cylinder bore was 3.4". ORIGINAL stroke was 3.9" for 74CID as/per H/D sites. My new motor from Triangle had NOTHING in common with a H/D product except for cosmetic appearance and the lifters. The BORE of the new (NOT OVERBORED stock) steel cylinders had to be 4.3" as/per 409 specs, again off a Chevy site. The STROKE of the new crank was 1 1/2" over stock, or 5.5" (OK, just for YOU, 5.4" 1 1/2 over the stock 3.9) for an EXACT displacement of 156.84CID... Do NOT call me a liar over that!.
THESE are the proper stats... Sorry my fun-post estimates were not to the thousandth... Nobody but you gives a crap...Cheesh! So, all my friends, disregard dimensions in my older estimated posts, THESE are the exact numbers. Now are you happy?Cases: Triangle proprietary castings to house stroker and oversize proprietary Triangle steel cylinders, topped off with proprietary Triangle alloy heads. The entire assembly was ROPRIETARY TRIANGLE PARTS... and of course I never had hands on the 409 pistons. They were inside the cylinders where they belong.
And, YES, the crank, rods, pushrods, rockers... EVERYTHING was PROPERLY ENGINEERED to use the 409 pistons. Why the Chevy pistons? Because Triangle liked them and built many 9-second strip-only motors using them. You are so obsessed with trashing me that you don't LISTEN to the facts.
Do you think I don't KNOW what my bike was made from? Do you think little Ray and I made the bike in the back yard with Bondo and Vice Grips? Do you think I didn't understand the quarter-mile after winning enough to pay off that engine? Are you REALLY that blind, or just so blind-raging at me that you just vent and vent? And by the way, zippy, ScooterRebels won't put up with this garbage. You are very knowledgeable on modern engines. But you are so far in left field concerning my bike that it's pathetic. Just read your ranting posts over something that is fifty years past and is not even relevant today and you'll see you're trashing not only me, but this forum. If we could sit down in person, and you could shut your mouth and open your ears for 20 minutes, we could probably be friends. Please open my thread addressed to you, and cyborg55. All your venom and acrimony toward me could have been resolved civilly with a few minutes of courteous dialog. Now please, no more phony "debunking" of the truth, and please, no more spreading your hate posts to other sites. I have no more time to play this game. I have serious issues with my Wife's health to deal with and THAT takes precedence over this scool-yard "he say/she say" infantile garbage. You can play this sick game all you want, but you'll have to play with yourself. Betty and I both have serious health problems. I have no time for games anymore. I have not even had time to ride the scooter this month so you can hopefully understand the low priority of this idiocy. With due respect, Leo PS: Concerning my early outlaw days, my club was the Chicago Rolling Lords. The Bandidos were responsible for stealing my 1970 bagger and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the Booze Fighters. Still one or two riding around Grapevine. They were true originals... In my mind, more so than the Angels. When the big clubs turned to organized crime, I turned to organized business. Most of us eventually grow up... Everyone should try that...LOL.

It's "John Deere". With an "e". Their twins are NOT hit & miss. OHV 4-strokes. And you did compare my mill with the Deere, and most correctly. You finally got a fact about my bike right. Triangle chose Chevy 409 pistons because they worked well in their proprietary motors. Cranks and heads were properly engineered for their use. 371 pounds the day I entered basic training. Thanks for the compliment that I looked thinner. 168 when I ETS'd as I appear in later pix. All spec's I researched because I certainly couldn't remember the exact spec's of a 74 or a 409 after fifty years. Sorry they differ slightly from my posts from memory. I did my homework this time to avoid what you're trying to do to me. Give it a rest.

Why would you not ASK a question before attacking someone's character?
THIS is an honest question. No sarcasm, just common sense.
If you see something in a post you question, why not just ASK...?
For example: Hey OCG, how did Triangle double the displacement of a 74? I'd be happy to explain.
Hey OCG, neutral-drop starts sound problematical. What mods were made to your tranny to allow that? I'd be happy to explain.
Hey OCG, why did you reference a site for specs on the FL and FLH? I'd be happy to explain.
This is supposed to be a FORUM... A site where members can be INFORMED. A place where members can share stories, ideas and information without fear of being mercilessly ridiculed... even to "zippy" now dragging the venom onto other forums.
If you or any other member has a problem with information posted, it can always be settled peacefully with simple questions and courteous answers.
I've never posted anything here that is not factual. Anyone doubting something I post is welcome to have his/her questions personally answered. If post-replies are not adequate, PM me and I'll give you my phone number and gladly speak in detail to address their doubts.
There is not one item in any of my posts that I can't explain in five minutes.
Courteous Dialog edifies forums. Hateful Diatribe destroys them.
For many decades, I've made friends worldwide and gotten along with most everyone, simply being courteous and engaging in truthful dialog. I don't know WHAT I did to make my adversaries here so vicious, but whatever it is, I apologize.
However, I will never apologize for being truthful.
If you question something I post. Please, just ask a question before launching an attack. I'll be happy to explain.
Most sincerely,
Leo Squiers

Pistonguy… Sorry but as usual, you're running your mouth about something the facts of which you were NOT privy to.Yes. You found the F/FL site I quoted from. Past posts I did were strictly from memory. This post I made SURE I had the dimensions right. Not to brag, but to inform. Chevy 409 pistons are 4.3" dia. Read the F/FL site again... F/FL motors had 9.44 hp UNTIL the 1955 FLH with 60 hp. My original was a '57 FLH with 60hp. My Triangle cylinders were turned steel, thin and the cast cases matched, and of course the heads were custom-cast and quite unique by necessity. Triangle built TURNKEY drag motors of the HIGHEST order. Mine was one of a handful they built for the street, with the caveat to me that I understood it was definitely a "live fast/die young" motor... One or two seasons of street riding and occasional races at best. Thanks for noticing the chrome! It was pretty AND pricey... Chrome don't get you home but what's under that chrome will. With a full foundry forging cranks and casting setup making PROPRIETARY heads and cases, Triangle SPECIALIZED in those race-winning products. Especially turnkey drag motors and trannies. And YES. It was MONUMENTALLY undersquare. Absolutely like a John Deere: You ARE correct on THAT one! 250+hp and would NOT turn much faster than 3K wide open in neutral. And THAT was MORE than adequate for 11 second runs. Yeah, alum. rods WERE only good for 200 runs or so. In two seasons, I probably made less than FIFTY runs to recoup the $20K.Time slips mean nothing? Are you NUTS? They are the provenance of the performance. They meant quite a bit to the drivers Jan and I beat for serious money. You cannot STAND anything that doesn't fit your idea of how things should be, and cannot STAND it when something you think can't work DOES work. Sorry, but it was my bike, the history is true, and posted as I said, NO bragging intended, only for the enjoyment of those who wanted some info on the bike. Yeah, and I was over 350 pounds at 14, and 15 and 16 and 17... And yeah, I had the skills to maintain the $20K build IN SPADES, my misguided friend. I was in WEEKLY contact with Triangle. At 17 I was astute enough to listen to the boys who BUILT the expensive motor... The bike WAS worn out after 2 seasons. It was truly a one-season build IF raced every weekend. I only raced for money, and either Jan, or I always won, thank you.
I've tried to be cordial to you over this last year, and my reward is you once again calling me a liar. Sorry, but telling the guy who did something that it's BS, is TRULY BS on your part. Interesting that I have NEVER initiated a feud with you. YOU are ALWAYS the one with the chip on your shoulder, starting the trash.
I will NOT wallow in your mud, and will be respectful to you and everyone on the site, but you are dead-wrong about every trashing you dump on me.
Let's be totally honest. YOU truly think I am a brain-dead old jerk living in a fantasy world of lies and tall tales. I truly think YOU are a sanctimonious self-righteous loud-mouth so full of yourself that you can't see the forest for the trees. It's a free country. We don't have to like each other. We will never respect each other, but please end these non-stop insults. They may be YOUR way of expressing yourself, but they are not mine.
We are from different planets... like oil and water. Cobra and Mongoose, etc. YOU will NEVER believe or respect ME and I will NEVER believe or respect YOU. You have members who admire you, and so do I. It "is what it is" but let's not further damage the image of this forum over personal opinions. Let's just agree to disagree without the trash-talk. Please. It only degrades the forum, discouraging others to post for fear of your unwarranted attacks. We both know I'm NOT the only member you've done this to.
Most respectfully,
Leo

Dude!!! get at least your own facts straight from your own posts here and on other boards. Hey there... I figured you might get a little opening of your narrow mind from this one...
website www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/1ax3tf/clutchless_shifting/"The main advantage of using a clutch for anything other than setting off, is simply that you have more control. On the street, that can be very beneficial. Overall, though, because of the constant mesh design of motorcycle transmissions, you are not looking at significantly increased wear or tear, unless you have the dogs bounce over each other (Kind of like when you miss-shift and don't hit any gear), that's when damage can occur. Clutchless upshifting allows for quicker shifts, often time smoother shifts." This is from a professional motorcycle racing source... OK, track the writer down and call him a liar... And THIS quote pertains to MODERN-DAY competition, not even a throwback to my days where such techniques were not only COMMON but I never heard a peep from track officials about it being "banned". You know a lot, but you don't know it all... And ESPECIALLY you don't know ME. You're welcome...

Now, my FRIENDS... No BS and Back to BIKES... Here I am, 1970... Two days out of the Army and on my brand-new Electra-Glide Dresser! My post-military life was just beginning in 1970. I had this new Harley, and my pal "Mustang Jim" had a new Triumph Bonneville. For a few months, we just enjoyed riding like our posse did two years before. But soon, the custom-bug bit and we began to put our own marks on these bikes... Jimmy's Triumph bobber shown earlier IS this same bike. Not all pix are in chronological order... This is a long thread and I only have so much time to create the post from all the pix... And my thanks to Kat for wanting to see the Easter Bunny pix! If I had not dug into paper bags, old boxes etc. I would not have found them, AND all these others... Especially the pix of "Old Blue". And without digging into old tool boxes, I wouldn't have found the ancient TIME-SLIPS to discredit those rude enough to call me a liar... It is very gratifying when one can pull the rug from under those who enjoy hurting others. Keep it real, keep it truthful and ignore those who run their mouths without knowing the facts... and most of all... Ride safe!Leo (enjoying the ride, and enjoying my true web-friends) in Texas

Addressing those who can't resist rudely lying about me, and trying to start another feud...
I thought we were past this grade-school crap, and could get along. SOMEBODY'S got to act like an adult here, so... Sorry, but I won't fall for the baiting again. This thread is for my friends who wanted to know a little more about my history. I won't embarrass my friends by getting in the mud with you again. I'm always amazed at how "experts" who've never met me, don't know me and WERE NOT THERE have the unadulterated ego to post the BS card.
Please once again check the time-slips below and then drop the subject for good.Yeah, and the "Go Girl" slip was run sans-clutch.
I was there. YOU were NOT. It was MY bike running the quarter, not yours. It was ME and my friend, not you riding. I suppose you think the moon-landing was faked too.
For the record, if I tell you the sky is green, you might want to check it out. I've been MORE than patient with this garbage. And kind to those who don't deserve it. I'm a founding member of this site, and respected by most members. I post factual fun things from the past, purely for the enjoyment of those too young to have experienced them, things that could not be done today... NO brag, NO BS, just true anecdotes for my pals to enjoy...I'm sure my friends here would agree that you who trash me would be much better served to follow "Dr. Phil's" advice to never pass up a chance to keep your mouth shut. There is no excuse, or known cure for insulting rudeness. Apparently you just can't accept my attempts to be friendly and get along... Do you guys address strangers IN PERSON and attack them like you do to me here?
All I can do is wish you a nice day and ignore the BS you soil my threads with. End of story.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt...
Some CARS can be just as bad... My Mom had a Buick that you had to remove a fender-brace, the battery, then partially remove a fender to access the headlight-bulb from the rear... I haven't checked, but my Honda may be similar...
At least, once the bulb IS replaced, it usually lasts a long time...
