Sorry for taking awhile to respond have been busy with work, Okay took the case off and this is the starter motor and belt. imgur.com/5fKNprVBy the way, Should this bike be able to run with the kickstarter not attached? When It's not attached the belt spins but it won't start, I'm confused when it comes to this, Sorry if it's a newb question.

Okay so I tried removing the kickstart and now the starter gears just spin and nothing else happens, I can smell petrol (gas) as i'm trying to start the bike.

On the model of my bike the kill switch turned off by the key, so it is definitely off and the side stand does have a kill switch but is also retracted, I don't have anything to check the cranking volts myself but the bike started and ran yesterday and today it won't start. I haven't used any of the electronics apart from when i tried to start it today.

I went to buy a scooter yesterday and when i got there we went through starting the bike, Moving it off a little and we had it running for about 10 minutes. The bike seemed fine, It warmed up and the revs lowered and the bike seemed in good condition, The only thing wrong with the bike itself was the kickstart casing is slightly damaged so the kickstart doesn't work.
Now, I don't have my CBT done yet as I wanted to get the bike first, So after filling out the paper work we put the bike at an angle in the back of a friends car and drove it back to my house (50 minute journey). When I got it back to my house and tried to start the bike it would not start, When I try to start the bike it makes a mechanical (sort of grinding noise) for a few seconds before making a stable humming noise.
I don't know much about bikes but I've been reading around and I'm unsure if maybe the engine is flooded with petrol(gas) and I was curious if anyone here could point out if it sounds like this is the problem and how would I go about fixing it? I will be contacting a local garage tomorrow but I thought I'd try to get a few answers here if possible before forking out some cash for what might be an easy fix. As I said before transporting the bike it started no problems. The battery has charge as all the electronics are working on the bike.
