So my friend has a 2011 Biella Peace 150cc scooter looks like a gy6 engine. She dropped it a couple of days ago on the left side and since then it hasn't been able to start. It's turning over and everything but there is no spark (took the sparkplug out and tried to ground it on the case). I'm trying to impress her by fixing it but have gotten stuck! Somebody help me out!
When I disconnect the power and ground wire that lead from the CDI to the coil the power wire tests good (60vAC). Then when I connect the coil back up and test the same wire it tests bad a really small number like 0.1vAC. Then I tested the coil and it has 0.8ohms (good) and even bought a new coil and still nothing.
I followed this troubleshooting guide and here are my results:http://www.buggydepot.com/tech-center/gy6-150cc-ignition-troubleshooting-guide-no-spark/
1. Bypass switches (GOOD): Tried it, still nothing
2. Stator (GOOD): Checked the two power wires going from the stator to the CDI and both are good. Black/Red (CDI Power) = 80vAC Blue/Yellow (Trigger Wire) = 1.5vAC
3. CDI(BAD?): Next I checked the two wires going from the CDI to the coil THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD
There are two wires that go from the CDI to the coil Black/Red (power) and Green (ground). When I disconnect the power and ground wires from the coil and test them with the multimeter the power wire reads 60vAC and goes down as we continue to turn over the engine. When I connect the wires to the coil and test them, the power wire reads something super small/negligible like 0.1vAC
4. Ignition Coil (GOOD): 0.8 ohms
What the funk is going on here?!
