Chinese workforce is a lot cheaper than US workforce, why on earth do you want a job back to the US if you can't afford to buy anything because everything will be US made and too expensive for the average Joe factory worker?.
The golden years of the 50s where a factory worker could buy a house, a brand new car and raise 3 children are not coming back, not because "they took 'er jebs", but because we as human population got more griddy and overpopulation.
According to some of the comments here, some of you guys need to turn off Fox news, get a passport and go out and meet the world outside your borders, you will be surprised that the world is not what you thought it was, and you have a lot to learn.

I've never seen one in 38 years living here, you have to go deep in the bunnies to watch wild life, bugs are another story, almost every single day I see a different kind of bug that I have never seen before, luckily I have 4 cats that are good hunters and love eating bugs, lol. I think I would be worried about those big venomous snakes in Costa Rica; even while riding my scooter.

Like Chewe says, kamikaze bikers without lights is a thing here, since I live up the mountains it gets foggy at nights frequently, that's not a problem for those idiots riding without lights, they keep doing it.
Landslides on rainy season, and semi trucks without escort are other issues, the roads near my house are steep hills and sharp twistys on narrow roads, it is an alternate route for truckers when the main road is closed, it is not funny riding at night on a tight twisty with your bike fully leaned, and getting in front of a semi truck using both lanes!!.

Cheap is what we wanted, cheap is what we got!!.
As long as we focus our buying decisions based mainly on price, and Wallstreet hunger for profit keeps growing, manufacturers will keep looking for cheaper alternatives to build their products.

Unbelievable isn't it!!, She's a philologist, she has been a book worm since she was a kid, not much into movies, although she is a geek on Harry Potter and Marvel. I haven't seen Solo yet, but if she's into sci-fi/space opera then I think she'd enjoy it just fine. Maybe even better without the baggage of expectations. Then have her watch the original trilogy. And let us know her reaction. Wait--she's seriously never seen ANY of the originals? Like not even Star Wars? Gosh, even my Mom saw that one. Even Grandmother saw it. Commented afterwards that she didn't get any of it, but we kids seemed to enjoy it so that was worth it. She was NOT a sci-fi fan at all. Nor Mom. But they saw it. How'd your wife manage to miss all of them? She live in some remote island tribe that has no electricity and zero contact with the rest of the world?

Wheelbender, Kat, I have a question for you. My wife wants to watch the new Solo movie, but unbelievably she hasn't seen the first movies, do you think she will enjoy it without knowing what's going on on the other movies?.
