Well, I discovered I'd forgotten my scooter keys IN the scooter ignition all night. The battery is completely dead and not even the horn works! For the last three hours have been trying to find a car battery charger on a sunday late afternoon, then trying to charge the battery. What I'd like to know is IF I can hook up the scooter battery, and the car battery charger to the battery and "jumpstart" the scooter without damaging my scooter or battery (or both). There are like three motorcycle or scooter riders within two blocks whom I always see when walking around. Today I couldn't find a soul!! Am googling online to see if it's an feasible option.
How do I know the charger is even charging? Of 6 or 12 on the charger, I have it set to 6, and removed the battery fm the scoot, and connected the neg and clips to their respective poles. The charger amp meter is reading ZERO but it must be working because after 45 minutes charging the scooter battery, reconnecting the battery to scoot I had a feeble horn beep, BUT not enough to start the engine yet! Anyone know if I can jumpstart the scooter using the battery charger with the battery connected in the scoot?
Thanks!!

Hello and how is everyone? I have a Chinese MEIDU 150cc scooter that I picked up in 2011, and granted it's still running but it desperately needs a tune up, change of oil (transmission and engine), among other things. The speedometer and odometer died months after I got it after hitting a big pothole in downtown SF; I've tried everything to try and get it working again with no success. Greased the cable, dis- and reconnected the cable.... you get the idea. I have the part for the speedo hub to replace but am VERY limited on tools so I can't do the work aside from I have no idea what I'm doing. The motorcycle/scooter shops in the City refuse to work on chinese scoots at all, and I can understand why. I took the bike last year to one SF shop near the Mission area and they charged me three figures and did not do a thing after an hour!!! I also have the part to replace the flasher for the non-working turn signals, but cannot find that piece anywhere, and I have taken apart the front and back panels at the steering, and can't find the part to replace. The headlamp bulb burned out a week ago and bought a new bulb and replaced that myself with no problem. If only I knew where the items are, I could probably do it myself.... yea. ha!! If there's anyone in SF proper, I'd appreciate a hand and maybe you can make some money. I'd love to know how fast I am going and use my turn signals again, along with getting the scoot greased and running more efficiently. Thanks in advance, and hoping to find someone in SF! Saludos!!

I'm a freelance photographer, and granted I don't have any images of motorcycles posted, but I have a website full of image galleries of a LOT of things, scenes, views, and places. I even have another site where I am selling calendars! Don't like the calendars I have posted? Tell me what you like of the images seen at that website, and I'll put it together in a calendar for you! You can even select the start month, so say the calendar year has already started; YOU can selected this same month, or next month to be the first month page in your calendar.... cool huh? Thanks in advance, and please take a minute or two to browse around. And yes, I love sunsets and have an extensive gallery of SUNSETS at both sites! Hoping you like what you see, and please let me know if not! Saludos! Here's a sunset at Seal Rock last night in San Francisco. I'm at g+ as "fototaker Sf" and post images every single day! Drop by and say HOLA!! I'm also at youTube too, and here's a video I did of the shuttle Endeavour on her farewell flyby in San Francisco last year! my public g+ bit.ly/1r035uJmy older image galleries at RedBubble bit.ly/19uGZXn (no longer updated with newer pixs as of late 2013) My newest image galleries including America's Cup finals in San Francisco 2013 smu.gs/179OEOfMy calendars available for purchase bit.ly/18rl4Qh

I was an inactive member in ScootDawgs but my old userID and password wont allow me to log in here, so I created a new one. I've had a chinese 150cc for over 2 years. There are a LOT of ppl buying scooters in SF now as I see them all the time!! I am a full-time freelance photographer, and am out of the country a lot since I have an apartment in Rota, Spain (SW Andalucia). No scooter there though. The scooter is doing "well" in that it still moves BUT it badly needs a tuneup, change of engine oil, transmission oil and to get the odometer and speedometer fixed since that went out months after I got it in 2012 on the potholes of San Francisco. I've torn the scoot apart looking for the pieces to fix the gauges myself but couldn't find it; I don't really have the space nor tools to do any serious work. My turn signals faltered also and though I also have the part for that, cannot find the piece to replace. Took it to a SF motorcycle/scooter shop and they didnt do ANYTHING but charged me a very expensive $100 for an hour of nothing. Cannot find anything online that would really help me. Now that's it's running poorly, I've remembered I need to get some work done on it. I'd love to find the idle screw to adjust it so it won't idle so poorly when stopped. I am NOT mechanically inclined, but will do some things myself but as mentioned before: I don't have the tools. Just replaced the burnt out bulb in the headlamp. Looking for scooter-folks in SF! www.fototaker.net and I'm on g+ also
