Went to start it up this morning after sitting all night. started up and I was able to twist the throttle to keep it alive. it eventually idled out and sounded (relevtivly) ok. Hitting close to WOT you can tell it is struggling and boggs a bit.

cronekd2012-- that is exactly the same syptoms this scooter is having. Except mine was only about a 5 mph fall.
I've checked the PAIR system for any excess fluid to no success. Bone Dry. I havent checked my charcoal canister yet but the tank vent is on the top right side and it fell on its left side. I will check it none the less.
Could the valves need readjusting after a fall?

Went ahead with a couple of these tests this morning.
Put the Carb back in (didnt help) At the same time, tried out a fully charged battery (didnt help) Pulled the spark plug and and there is spark attempted to run it without the spark plug and no fluids came out of the hole
Reassembled everything and was able to get it on eventually but in my attempt to keep it alive it simply bogged down and ran terrible. twisting the throttle didnt help ease or worsen the condition. when I let off the gas fully it finally died.

What would be the solution to the fuel draining into the cylinder head and flooding?
Alleyoop - I will double check the spark plug again after cranking a few times.

Thanks Ken, I just tried to start it with fuel straight to the carb and it is a no go. With the petcock back on, I can see fuel flowing through the fuel filter and into the carb while attempting to start it. Just cant seem to turn over.

Hey Guys,
My girlfriend recently dropped her scooter on its left side. After picking it up she rode around for a few minutes untill it eventually died. Now I am unable to get it to start. on the rare occasion that it does fire up it doesn't stay on and putters dead.
What I've done so far:
Checked all connections Checked air filter for fuel (none) Checked spark plug (looks fine) Replaced the fuse in the battery box (just incase) Took apart the carb (everything looked normal and clean)
Nothing has been successful. This is a GY6 Lance Venice 150cc. Vacuum operated petcock.
Any suggestions? Didn't want to delve too much deeper till I had something to look for.

What about the exhaust gasket? Was there one when you took the exhaust off? Mine didn't have one when I did mine off.

Went out to check out a couple of theories. Intake manifold seems to be starting to crack: (a little bigger than they appear in the picture) i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q651/dstenersen/photo1_zps55f4d3bd.jpgThe petcock was something I wanted to check out as well. I'll try to explain. I removed the petcock and their was still a little fluid in the top section. To test the vacuum diaphram I blew into the bottom hose which resulted in feul shooting out of the top section. After a few pumps in and out the diaphram felt different and more restrictive. I poured more fluid into the top section to continue testing and I can no longer produce the same result. I can no longer blow on the port and have air excape. Faulty petcock? i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q651/dstenersen/photo2_zps4b106f3f.jpgFurther more, On top of the exhaust gasket missing I also don't have a carborator intake manifold insolator. Any thoughts?

I'll have to take a look at those weights.
Thinking back, when I raised the main jet to 112 ( from 105) I never adjusted the needle. Is this something I should take into account? Besides the backfire there is no noticeable difference what so ever. Between 1/2 and WOT going back and forth in that section it doesn't feel like its acceleration faster. Just feels like it's still chugging along.

Is there anything else I can check in the mean time for the source of why this scooter is topping out at 45mph?

is the PAIR system removal necessary for the cone filter and stock airbox removal? the airbox has 3 extra hoses running to it.
I will have to check the flange in the morning after a night of cooling down. Planned on taking the exhaust off tomorrow and trying to clean some of the carbon deposits. According to my engine plate i have a BN157QMJ motor.

Always good to hear I'm not quite sure which flange you're reffering to. The backfire only happens with the larger 112 jet. It does currently have the air box and I'm currently researching what to do with the extra PAIR system line and 2 other hoses that are connected once I install the new cone filter. It does not have a tach built into the instrument panel so I don't know what the RPMs at WOT are. I've tried a few different tunes but nothing has increased that top speed. I assumed the two wires were simply extras, thank you for confirming! Thinking back, when I rev the engine while on the center stand the fuel filter barely fills up. Maybe I'm having vacuum issues. I forgot to mention, I believe this motor is considered a GY6-B.

Hey Guys, Long time lurker first time poster here. So my girlfriend has been away on vacation for 9 weeks in Germany and comes home 1 week from today. She has always wanted a moped to travel back and forth from the university here in town. I found a great deal on a 2008 Lance Venice 150cc (3000 miles) that I couldn't pass up. Now she has no idea what she's coming home to and I want to make sure it goes perfect. When I bought it, it needed a new battery and couldn't stay alive while cold. I've been tinkering with the moped for a couple of weeks no, replacing old parts and general maintenance stuff. Here is a list of everything I've done so far: Oil Change (full synthetic) Gear Oil change New spark plug (from original) New Battery Replaced a few cracked hoses here and there Adjusted the valves (both .004) Cleaned the Carb Bought a new carb for the choke (choke fixed the cold start issue) Parts I have coming in on Tuesday: A 42mm Cone air filter New performance CDI New Spark Plug wire Here's the thing, I've been working on trying to get this thing to run as well as it can for when she gets back. I don't want her to run into any issues or know of any to begin with. Currently this scooter is topping out at 45 mph (via GPS). I've upped the jets to 35 pilot/112 main (started at 32 pilot/ 105 main) which resulted in absolutely no increase in speed except at take off. this also gives me a backfire after decelerating at WOT. I've also got these two wires going to nothing: Any advice? Any general maintenance I've missed?
