Hi guys,
Recently had a bit of trouble with my Kymco. I bought it a couple months ago, it's a bit of a project bike. It has an 80cc bbk installed and was having slight trouble starting when I bought it.
I replaced the battery 2 months ago, fixing the starting problem but it's returned worse.
About a week ago I was riding when my I noticed my blinker was blinking dimly and intermittently. I checked the horn and it was weakly sounding too. Weaker with every try. This is all while the engine was running. Engaging the brakes would cause the dash clock to light up but it got dimmer after each try. I got it home and turned it off.
Now it's like there is no battery in the scooter. When I turn the ignition, the clock on the dash doesn't light up, none of the lights work, and there is no response whatsoever from the starter button. A test with a multimeter shows my batter is at 12.9V which seems to be similar to my girlfriend's Vespa battery.
What am I looking at, problem-wise? I'm pretty handy but haven't dealt with electrical issues before. I would think if a fuse blew the scooter would suddenly stop having lights, not gradually like it did. The only recent work done to the scooter was taking the CVT cover off to check belt wear.
Thanks in advance.
