Mine doesn't have a bolt, but an axle with a nut on the out side of the swing arm. Took mine off and put back on with a 15/16 socket today as I don't have metric that large. Worked fine.

The second motor has a max operating temp of 60 C which translates to 140 F. You'd be outside the operating range of that one

I'm with ya now. Sounds interesting. Maybe add some heatsinks to the tank for good measure. Would be even more intersting if we get to see some pics and before/after temp readings. Keep us posted.

Makes sense that way. Very well could work. One more thought, how you gonna check your oil.

makes more sense. Still doesn't sound like a good idea. If the pump ever quit or if it doesn't keep up, you gravity feed more return oil than your able to evacuate and overfill the crankcase with the tank overhead. I would be nervous. Like the idea of an oil cooler, just don't know about the tank being overhead.

how do you plan to get the oil to travel up hill to your tank without using the oil pump? Crank case pressure wont just make it flow up hill and the extra oil in the overhead tank will overfill your crankcase which could cause other problems like hydro lock on the bottom end. I would think any sort of remote system would have to run off the oil pump.

Thanks for the reply John. Checked stator voltages today. I have no AC power coming from either the yellow or white wire directly from the stator with the connector unplugged. When plugged in I get 28v AC on the white which I assume is coming back up the wire instead of from the stator. So now I can assume its the stator?

Got my scooter running right and rode to work last nite. Its a 2008 Jonway T-12. About 22 miles one way to work. At about the 15m point the headlights went really dim, but would brighten back up if I pulled the brake lever. Dove into the wiring this morning after work since the last four miles with the front brake lever partially pressed was rather unpleasant. I started by cleaning and tightening up grounds and battery connections. Then pull the front shroud off to find the regulator. The regulator is a four pin, whatever came on the scoot. The white wire showed no voltage DC, but 12.7 v AC at idle, then jumped to around 18.7v AC @4000 rpm. The red wire showed 12.4v DC at idle and jumped to 13.4v DC @4000 rpm. The green wire showed no voltage DC or AC. And the yellow wire gave me negative readings of around -4v DC. When I check voltage at the headlight connection I got -4v DC there as well. If I've read correctly, the output on the yellow wire should be a regulated 12v DC to power the lights correct?? So this means faulty regulator. Also can someone tell me what that other small black box with all the wires is? Security system? It does have one.

Got the new flywheel in the mail and was able to repair the crankshaft. Used a small cutoff wheel as a straight edge and welded up the bad spots. Installed the new key. And after the pic, I filled in the small holes with JB weld. Torqued the flywheel with and impact and she's off and running. Speedo reads around 60mph and 7500 rpm at wot now. scooter is a 2008, but only has about 400 miles on it. Previous owner let fuel gum up the carb and thought he had electrical problem. I'm assuming he pulled the flywheel to look at the stator and didn't re-torque it properly. Think i'm gonna try repairing the key slot in the crank with welder and die grinder before I open the case. Worst I can do is screw it up and have to open the case anyway.

Hello everyone. New to the forum and the scooter world. Just bought a Jonway 150. Scooter had a rattle I couldn't find and the headlights only came on very dim. After some investigation I found the problem. The flywheel was loose and rattling. Does anyone think this crankshaft is salvageable or is the woodruff key groove worn too badly. I have access to a mig welder so I could spot weld the key into place, or at least I think I can. Haha. I know the flywheel has to be replaced, but I'm hoping I can salvage the crank without having to pull the motor and split the case.<br>This is on a 157QMJ motor.<br><br><br> <br><br><br><img style="max-width:100%;" alt="" src=" "><br>
