NEW SCOOTER FOUND 250cc called the TYPE 18 found on one website called superior power sports (in california) 15" front, 14" rear wheels, dual disc front, disc rear, water cooled, full fairing design. Due to the larger stanchion tube fork (a big plus) and dual disc it appears to be a downsize of a larger brother and with todays tail heavy long wheelbase scooters this is a plus. (it appears to have an over engineered chassis) I have been looking for scooters with larger wheels so let me know if you know of any -
..so i just logged in to the forum. this is the biggest best most popular scooter forum no? no cars for me i use only an electric bike i designed to get around, it is the worlds best design and by a margin. i am picky and settle only for the best. i believe in perfection not evolution - when i design a part thee engineers go home. they get laid off. typically today, business states that, say, a bicycle should be chopped into 50 pieces, all those slices of the pie suffering from some form of compromise. I despise this thinking and when i designed a part back in the day such as shimano dual control, it immediately owned the shifting world and no tour de France has used anything else, ever, nor since. this concept is new for many of you's i know, but then as always "where i am is always where u people will be" - impressed???
I deleted motorcycles back in 1989 because they broke down too fast. Also, engineers were like drunk little kids plus they began deliberately incorporating problems just evil people - now a motorcycle average cost is astronomical. The cream always rises to the top enter scooters.
anywayistmost, i was the bicycling king of kings back in the same exact days we still have now, a good idea is timeless, starting back in 1987 with my worldleading dual control shifter. now i am backed into corner such that i must travel on the freeway to look for a property to buy in the midwest.... right off the bat i wanted full FAIRING to stay dry, STORAGE and fuel EFFICIENCY with low initial cost, under 3k. needless to say cosmetics and impractical ideas are neverrrrrrr on my menu.
zoom forward to today, I decided to begin research with the chinese (and or full fairing/saddle bagged) scooters and as usual i was right. this is where the motorcycle evolution is spearheaded now. very nice designs and in contrast, may anyone out there engineering problems into these machines to extract a buck, may u suffer the plagues prophesied in the book of revelation do i even look like i'm joking *HERE* ()
well while surfing the usual candidates i discovered a weird machine which is probably a re badge. It has the bigger wheels i prefer. It has the biggest fairing. i need to know what this machine is so's i can find some other sellers. i live in cali, and it is not sold in Cali. It is being sold under ROCKETA TYPE 18 250CC SCOOTER on a California website. It doesn't have specs either and i NEED SOME SPECS. no i am not calling this the best machine, just a candidate what with the big wheels being a standout and also the CHP style fairing that i like. (it has 14 inch rear -15" front wheels) If a 13 wheel is massively cheaper and such,,, and will be easier to get online, feel free to offer some inputs. I been researching only 2 days off a blank sheet.
BIGGER WHEELS ARE GOOD (motorcycle wheels can be smaller then bicycle because motorcycles have very heavy wheels that contribute to what we must have which is a GYROSCOPE. on a bicycle, 29, which is also called 700c, is a good size. on a motorcycle 14 -15 or more is best
there's beginners need to be educated here, and sincere experts also ....a 29 inch wheel will coast down typically around twice (or certainly what FEELS like twice, once you've ridden a double century so who cares what is says on paper) what a 20 inch will on a bicycle, mostly bearing friction is the hidden culprit but also small wheels are twitch and wear your brain out. the smaller wheel is spinning many more times per mile. the bigger wheel will, if spinning half as many times, wear out the rubber half as fast right? and there is more rubber available to do the work to begin with keeping tire cool, keeping costs down your tires will just last longer a tires life is a product of how many times it spins. Streets get too hot to touch in the summer. Small tires are heat collectors. The giro is much stronger for stability with optimum wheel, and the wheel fits into many less road irregularities for a smoother ride it's like having free suspension. a tire spinning slower will break free in a tight corner at a later time and be more forgiving when it does. on a bicycle u can ride no hands at very low speed with big wheels, with small 16 inch wheels like my orange crate, you could never ride no hands.
other scooters I like the TBX 260 EFI, and the Reflex clones look good also because of parts availablility and these are COMMON NAMES for reflex clones:
MC-54-250, MC-54B-250, MC-54-250B, YY250T, MP-250A, VIVA 250 Roadster, MC-SL22A, 250 Ranger, 250 Road Queen, MC-54-300
big wheels, water cooling, 250cc or more because freeways must be an option and under 3k. those are my preferences but ONLY IF I CAN GET PARTS at a low cost.
EFI is hard to find, so, a decent carburetor is a viable candidate but I need more EFI options. MC-18-500 is a Rocketa, also comes in a 250 but i don't see it online but it is fuel injection. know of any fuel injection scooters in my price range??? and WHAT KIND OF BIKE IS THAT TYPE 18?? Rocketa does not make bikes, only badges them. the only website i found the type 18 250 shown or for sale is called superior power sports
