As I read the posts on the last 2 pages I am surprised and discouraged about the negative, narrow minded, and mean spirited replies. I have been riding for over 50 years and I have owned over 80 bikes of all sizes and types. I posted on this forum just as a friendly observer for over 5 years. I don't think I will be back though. We all need to remember that this and all forums should be inclusive, friendly, and informative, when they become mean and judgemental they serve no ones best interest. Job

Flyangler, thanks I like the simplicity of a big single, and the S40 is supposed to be nearly bullet proof. Cookies, the Vulcan 500 was number 2 on my search list. It has good two up power and a higher cruise speed than the Suzuki 650. I think you will really like yourbike. Jtron the SV650 is a great all around bike. I looked at a couple of them but the price was out of my range. Keep looking and good luck with you hunt. Jeff

Well I finally did it. I sold both of my scooters and bought a 2009 Suzuki 650. This bike is great. It will run mph with no problem and yet I am getting 62-65 mpg. I added saddle bags and a backrest for my wife's comfort. It only had 2250 miles on it when I got it for $2500. I have put about 1500 miles on it in the 2 weeks I have owned it. Job.

High all, I have a 2008 Linhai / Diamo Turista 300 with over 9000 miles of almost trouble free miles, . Lately I am seeing the 2000 mile Avon Viper Stryke tire cupping severely. I am not sure I want to try any long trips on it. Do any of you know what causes the tire to cup? I am unable to take photos at this time. Thanks for any help you might have. Jeff

Audionut, That is one fine built scoot. I checked out all of the photos and you can be proud of your work. Jeff.

I road to and from work today. The high here was 35 and mostly sunny, but windy. I really enjoyed the ride. I had been off of the scoot for about a week as we had to shuttle all three cages back and foirth to the shop. It looks like rideable weather for the next week. New Mexico is great. Job

Copenhagen, I took the new speedo out. I used wd 40 on the bushing where the indicator shaft passes through the dial face and now it works great. Jeff B.

Copenhagen, I just got my new speedo in and it was easy to change. Remove the top windshield trim and then the six. Screws that hold the windshield. Remove the windshield and then the two screws that hold the panel under the shield. There are 4 screws on the two leg shield cargo compartments ad then you can get to the dash. I removed the speedo cable and unplugged the wire harness to the dashboard and I listed it up and out. There are two clips and three screws hold in the dash and cover together. Remove two brass screws that hold speedo to dash. Easy. Good luck with yours. Mine went in OK but I am still getting a hesitation on the new unit at 60 mph not as bad as the old unit though. Job .

I had a great ride today. My neighbor (who bought my old Gold wing) and I on my new 2008 Diamo Turista 300 rode 235 miles on a route from Farmington NM to Silverton Colorado. We crossed 2 mountain passes. The picture is of the 2 bikes in the parking area at Molas Pass (10910 feet elevation). We returned to Farmington by Navajo Lake and along the San Juan River. It was a great ride. The Diamo ran 60 to 70 mph all day no problems. Attachments:

Luke that's too hot. Brandjur no I didn't have my camera with me. I don't think to take photos I guess I just take for granted that everyone have these views. I will try to do better one the loop ride. If you want to see our mountains Google San Juan Skyway. Jeff

Scootnwinn, Yes we are so lucky to live in the southwest with such a diversity of terrain. I like the ride from Tierra Amarrio to Red River too. It has been years since I rode it. Like I said we have it good. Jeff

My neighbor and I took a nice 240 mile round trip ride up to Rico Colorado in the San Juan Mountains. The weather, the mountains, and stream beside the highway was great. It was a nice 5 hour ride. This was my first 100 plus mile ride and we are talking about riding the 280 mile San Juan Skyway ride in a week or so. That ride starts here in Farmington New Mexico to Durango Co. then Silverton, Ouray, Ridgeway, Telluride, Dolores, Mancos, Hesperus Colorado and then home to Farmington. It is an all day ride from 5000 ft at home to over 12000 ft elevation at the mountain passes. It is spectacular this time of year. I am riding my new 2008 Diamo Turista 300 scoot that had just over 900 miles on it at the end of the ride. Jeff
