I opened up the cylinder head, the middle piston ring was stack closed inside the piston, there is also some wear on the piston as well as the cylinder....i decided to buy a Big bore kit but i do not know which one to buy. i have the GY6 150CC ENGINE 157QMJ 57.4mm.......how do i know which big bore kit fits my engine?
i see there are kits ranging from
57.4mm 58.5mm 60mm and so on
will these fit my engine?

Yes the electric choke is on but not connected, its messed up. I will try running it with the filter on.
How can i do a compression test?
No, if i keep running the smoke increases.
I will open up the engine today to have a look.

Ok here is the update.
Issue no.1
I gave it another try today, i removed the filter and covered the carb intake so that less air would go in, it starts up a lot easier when i do this. also when i cover the carb intake the engine is able to accelerate and pick up rpm, It runs a lot better when i cover the carb intake.
so for the 1st issue what do i need to do? whats the problem?
Issue no. 2
However another problem appeared, when the engine picks up rpm while covering the carb intake as soon as I release the throttle the engine dies slowly. So i checked the slide with the needle
The slide with the needle was stack, i tried moving it with my hand but it didn't move, i then inserted a screw driver and applied some force but still nothing. I then applied some WD40 and it started moving. I opened up the carb cleared everything, now its moving good.
Issue no.3
after cleaning the carb the engine doesn't die when i stop accelerating. therefore now the engine seems to run properly.....it picks up rpm and when i release the throttle its still running fine, but all this while i am covering the carb intake.
However after running it off the ground for a couple of minutes, lots of oil and white smoke is coming from the exhaust. how do i solve this?is it the piston o ring?

I would also look into the back of the carb while you give it throttle with the air cleaner off,,you should see the slide with the needle move up while the motor picks up rpm,,if it doesn't there could be a problem with the CV vacuum chamber spring and or diaphragm... Hi, to understand what you mean please see the picture below, the part that i indicate with the red arrow should move upwards when i increase the throttle? One more question, if the engine is turned off the part that i indicate with the red arrow should also move when i accelerate or does it have to be running?

Thanks a lot for the help everyone....i tried using a bigger wire to short the relay terminals as william42 suggested and you are right its a lot better, it doesn't get that hot. Ok so this is solved
The next thing is about the solenoid, currently i have only the two big wires connected as shown in the diagram above, the other two skinny ones are not connected to anything.
The two skinny wires are red/yellow and red/green as tvnacman said
so i will ground the red/green one.......where shall i ground it? to the frame or the engine?
and i shall pass 12V to the red/yellow one.......how exactly shall i do this? connect it directly to the battery terminal? if yes which terminal?

Hello everyone, i am new to this forum and the reason for coming here is because i have an issue with my wire harness. I bought a used scoot with a gy6 150cc and i am trying to rewire the whole harness. My first goal is to get the scoot running but with out any lights, horn, speed or rpm....so no accessories just to be able to start the engine and switch it off. Since i do not have the switch installed, in order to fire it up i short the starter relay terminals. When i do this the starter motor spins together with the engine but the wire i use to short the relay terminals gets extremely hot and i get lots of sparks. This shouldn't be happening right? from the diagram can someone spot my error? below is the diagram of how and what i have wired up to now.
