Hello there everyone! So I'm a total newb to this site, as well as the world of scooters. I just got myself a used Chinese 150cc scooter, and some issues are starting to pop up. Yesterday, out of nowhere, the engine just got really loud and almost sounds like a motorcycle now. And it also backfires or pops (I don't know the difference but I do know that there is a difference) on deceleration. Yeah it sounds cool, but I know it can't be good in the long term. Like I said, I'm a total newb when it comes to any sort of mechanical stuff. Or how engines work, and all the parts and pieces that keep it working. However, I am very eager to learn in fact, one of the reasons I got the scooter was to learn about engines and fixing them myself. So with all that said if anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I did find this: "First place I would look is the HEADER PIPE FLANGE connected to the Motor. See if it lost a nut or two and blew out the Gasket." Read more: scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/45313#ixzz32vPhGoKYNot exactly sure what a header pipe flange is, and it seem the picture that was posted is no longer available. But seeing as at the top of the page is says "We Are Moving!" and gives a link to this site, I figured it'd be best to make an account on here and ask around. Thank you in advance for any help, and I look forward to getting to know my scooter better!
