I purchased a 150cc GY6 Motor from T-Motorsports. I have spent months trying to figure out why the motor I spent $325 on did not work as it was supposed to. This wasn't a quick throw it in and go project. I have kind of used this project as my introduction to mechanics. Everything I have done to this scooter I have done on my own, by myself. I am a single mother working two jobs to support my two children. I do not have the money to shell out to a mechanic every time my scooter farts. I purchased this motor and kept having issues with it not running right. I had a few custom adjustments I made to my scooter so I thought it was my problem. I took it apart and noticed that the head was ported smaller than my old motor. I had a guy tell me he had the same problem with a motor so I cleaned up the old head to my old motor and stuck it on the brand new one I purchased from T-Motorsports. This did NOT fix my problem. Here, I cannot ride during the winter due to the weather, so I stored it for winter. Come spring, I took it back out and began again working on it. I finally gave up because no matter what I did it would not run. It took me two months to save up enough money to even have a mechanic look at it. Come to find out this JACKASS company that claims to be honorable and such a great honest company to order from sent me a 125cc motor instead of the 150cc I paid for. Then I get on their site and they don't even SELL a 125cc GY6. So I call the company and their employees were extremely rude to me and kept putting me on hold forever just to come back and put me on hold again. When I expressed my displeasure, they hung up on me and continued to answer the phone by hanging up every time I called them back. When I asked who was in charge and to get a name of somebody with authority I was told that it would do me no good and shuffled around from one warehouse monkey to the other. NOBODY WOULD HELP ME. They simply laughed at me and hung up on me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE FRAUDS!! If anyone else has had bad experience with this company, I have an attorney. Let me know how they screwed you and maybe we can stop them from scamming anybody else. This has cost me 86.99 for the new piston and cylinder that really ARE a 150cc. At least scooterparts4less sends me the correct parts. I also spent .00 on a mechanic and !8.00 on new valves. If I hadn't dunk tanked my old head would have had to buy that too.... This motor nightmare has been the worst experience of my life. Live and learn. I am in the process of tracking down who owns this company. I have complained to the BBB and every scooter/ATV forum I can. When a company is as shady as this, they should not be in business. I can't afford to play these kind of games with a bunch of frauds who think it is funny to give their customers the run around and refuse to take responsibility for what they sell to people. I couldn't even get somebody to explain how I ended up with a motor they don't even sell. They were the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. T-Motorsports from sonoma California. Some guy named JoJo answered ONE email out of the several I have sent complaining to them.....

I have removed the enricher/choke and bypassed it. I adjusted my carb and it seems to have fixed the problem. I cant take it for a road test until the rain subsides a little here. Its been a monsoon for days and i dont want to damage the scooter by getting all the insides wet since all plastic is off of it right now. But its on the stand and the popping and sputtering seems to be gone. Thanks so much for your help. I will post when i get to road test it.

ok so no cracks in any of my air tubes. The exhaust tight and the gaskets are good. It doesn't necessarily pop when I let off the throttle it sputters and putts when I am trying to give it throttle. The scooter starts perfect. It idles awesome but I am not sure at what RPM it is idling at. It seems to decelerate fine. Only when I give it gas does it spit and sputter. I am going to try and see if I can upload a video and link it so you might be able to hear what I am talking about with the sputtering and at idle. Thanks so much for your help. I am close to giving up but too stubborn to.....

I have a brand new head for a 150cc gy6 that came with the motor I bought from Tmotorsports. THe head ended up being ported too small. My old motor worked well for me so I cleaned the old head and put it in the new motor. I am left with a brand new head (only started motor maybe five times with it). It is perfectly clean and valves are included. Just not the springs. let me know if you want it. You pay shipping and it's yours. I just want it gone.

Fair warning: I am not exceptionally mechanically inclined and everything I have learned about my scooter I have learned off of youtube, forums, and what little my ex helped me with the first time we tore into it. I don't know much, but I have taken apart and put this motor back together enough to know how it is supposed to go in etc. Ok so here are my issues: I bought a new 150cc GY6 motor from T motorsports. I got the motor, installed it and was having some major popping issues and backfiring a LOT and got almost no power. I could barely go 20 mph. I did some research and somebody told me that they had also purchased a motor from the same place and they had the same issues. It ended up being the head was ported incorrectly. I popped open my motor and sure enough the new head in the brand new motor was ported way smaller than my old head. So i dunk tanked my old head and cleaned it up good as brand new and installed in into the new motor. I bought brand new valves and titanium springs to go with it because the old valves were caked in black gunk. I got it all put back together and started it up and the popping has stopped but I am not getting any speed or power and it is really slow taking off. Like I gotta twist the throttle quite a bit before the scooter actually takes off and when it is up on the stand the back wheel takes a while to start turning. (could this be because the weights in the CVT are too heavy?) I got on the scooter and rode it down the street and it is still bogging bad. I can't get above 35 mph or so. And it still backfires once in a while when I go that fast. When I turn off the scooter every once in a while it lets out a "poof" from the exhaust. Not exactly a backfire just an airy type "poof" sound. Also is the CDI supposed to get warm? Mine is getting quite warm to the touch while the scooter is running. I am also getting conflicting information on which mark to set my cooling fan at to ensure I am at TDC. Some people say it is the "T" mark but two different manuals I have downloaded say it is the "F" mark. Mine looks like this ------|TF| on the side of my fly wheel (is that the flywheel that has the timing marks not sure???). Should I match the mark on the side of the case to the F or the T? I adjusted my valves to .004 intake and .005 exhaust as it was on my other motor which ran great for me. If the correct mark is the F mark then that may be my problem because I have it lined up with the T mark. The cam is lined up correctly with the small holes lining with the head and the large hole straight out from head. I am at my wits end with this project. It is even more frustrating because I am bound and determined to finish this myself and seem to be stuck because I get so much conflicting information. Depending on which site I go to and who I ask I get different answers as far as valve adjustment settings and where to line up the fly wheel on the case at T or F mark.... GRRRRRRR..... <<<< I feel like I am beating the proverbial dead horse.... These are the changes I have made to the original motor that came with my scooter all these changes worked great in the old motor. I ditched the automatic choke and blocked off the holes that the choke used to hook to and bypassed it. It was the way my old motor was set up and worked fine. I have a mikuni fuel pump on it and I bought an in line fuel filter from napa. It is not as big as my old fuel filter which was a paper filter one. The new one I bought is a plastic cone with a gold metal "screen" in it. It is for a 660 quad or for dirt bikes. Is this fuel filter too small maybe? The motor came with a brand new coil and starter solenoid etc so I installed both brand new. I also vented my gas tank because it was vapor locking on me during long rides. I had to change the motor out because I put 5000 hard miles on that poor thing hauling two people around all summer long at 55 mph. I blew that poor thing so bad the piston cracked in three places on the intake side. I did not maintain the motor properly because I had no idea how to care for it as I do now. Oil changes and valve adjustments etc. So to any of you who can help a girl out I would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate a point in the right direction and maybe a few correct answers to the questions I have gotten conflicting answers to. Thanks in advance!!!
