*modified for cleanliness*
So this guy is walkin down the street and a 'women of the evening' steps out of an alley. She says "mister, I'll do anything you want for $20, just so long as you can describe it in 3 words." To which he replies "anything?" "You heard me, A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G"
So he thinks for a minute, hands her a twenty, and says "paint my house"

alright so I'm trying to learn Spanish again, but I digress...
Hello everybody, A co-worker of mine has recently acquired 4, gy6/Chinese (maybe Korean?) scooters. She picked them up for $100 a pop, they threw in one (with no engine/drivetrain) for free. Not a bad deal as they were all retailing for $1300+ when they were new (in 2008 - yeah, they been settin a bit). Long story short, the 3 complete ones are Linhai 50's, 2 are pretty standard semi-retro lookin, typical rental style scooters, the third is a little sportier, but ultimately the same thing (2-tone paint, stickers, flush-mount signals, extra front light thats about freakin pointless, but looks good). The 4th (no engine/drive), has a different name on the tag, front abs, and a gvwr about 200 lbs higher than the rest, 3.5x12 tires (rather than 3.0x10 on the others) and fancy cast-aluminum wheels as opposed to the stamped/welded steel of the others (also has sweet gauge cluster and loads of headlights). She has decided to give me one (the sportier/complete one), in turn for helping her and her boyfriend get them going. Aside from that, they're footin the bill for repairs on all three. So basically, I get a running scoot for some wrench time, once we get em on the road. They have some issues, the one I'm getting for example, the rear wheel was locked up - the brake shoes were literally broken (yeah, the structural part, not just the lining), so I had to grab a puller from work to get it off. Anyway, it rolls free now. We got one running, though it dumps fuel all over the place and dies if you give the throttle a good twist. I'll be going throught the carbs, cleaning out the tanks, replacing the lines (for good measure), and replacing a coil (it blew up, literally, the side of the freakin coil blew apart). So one step at a time I suppose.
I've got a lot of wrench time under my belt, mostly cars (on a side note, I went to school for big diesels, work in the auto trade), but I've had (and torn apart) a '75 Suzuki GT550 (2-stroke triple) project, a 78 GS750 (Awesome bike, $300, cafe' mods, bumped'er up, all paid with soda bottle deposit refunds), and an 07 Daytona 675 (the 750 wouldnt keep up with my friend's newer bikes, typical British electronics, but screams like a banshee). Not to mention my friend's assorted toys (a couple EX500's, a 250 or 3, a Fizzer, 3 buell xb's, an Rsv1000r, an sv650, an r6r, an r7, and de coup de grâce an SR50R Factory that just wasnt fast enough for her).
So I look forward to reading the boards, learning a few things, and maybe even providing some insight. For now though, I shall eat dinner.
