Yep, my sentiments exactly, I think it has something to do with keeping it moped legal. Since i already have a 72cc on it it blows that part,LOL How do I add a picture here?

Thanks for the reply, it says not to shift while moving, I guess it is not made to do this, it blows the gear box up or some type effect.

Greetings everyone, I had recently bought a lazer 5. It has the 72 cc kit on it. I changed out the front sprocket and back sprocket and got rid of the stock cdi and installed a no rev cdi and put a performance coil on it. Before all of this it would barely reach 30 mph, now I cruise at 40 mph no problem! Question/ It has a low gear, neutral and a high gear. But, you can only shift it when stopped...yes pretty useless. Dose any one know of a way I can modify this without putting a whole new motor on. It runs great but of coarse it is a dog off the line. Gy6 clone, 4 stroke. Thanks, Karl

Thanks, it does have the hi/low gear and neutral for peddling. No you can not switch gears on the fly, to bad it cant do this. I never use low gear. So far I am happy with it. It is slow off the start but gets up to speed and fly's.

It was a 50 cc, now it has a 70cc kit on it. The stalk cdi was rev limited. The stalk cdi kicked in between 6 to 8k and would not go above 8k which was OK. But when it is kicking in it kills the performance. Once I changed to the blue no rev cdi this problem went away. But the idle jumped because of the advanced timing. The idle could only be adjusted down to 2k, to go lower I had to adjust the fuel mixture and make it richer which was ok. The plug is an ash grey and I check it about every other day and it is staying the same. Before the new cdi it was a nice coffee color. Does this help clear things up. If you all think the timing issue is safe, I'll just run the blue cdi till it poops out. Carl PS I don't run it past 7500 rpm and it is running at 45 mph with about a third or half of the throttle left.

John, yes it does. But will this get rid of the advanced timing? I am still leery of the advance timing. Carl

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. Once I get this thing broke in I may switch over to one of Johns CDI's. I am kind of in no mans land here. I have a 70cc gy6, chain drive, AC moped, 4 stroke. Not really a scooter, not really a true moped and kind off like a motorcycle. But the thing runs great and I am getting about 100 mpg and it cruises at 40mph with half a throttle left. So I am still in the learning curve. Karl PS You should have seen the double take I got from a guy riding a Harley when he saw me give it a couple of peddles of the line at the light, to funny!!!
