Great thanks! Any more recommendations? Or is that about it? Any specific brands which are superior?

Thanks for the suggestions, ya'll. Sounds good. Is there a specific type of battery that is the "best" for mopeds? I am a college student so I'm on a budget. So... you know, a battery that is the best bang for the buck

In short, I need a new battery. Here's the rest: I don't know if anyone remembers my post here: itistheride.boards.net/thread/5066/tao-atm-50-battery-recharging. Long story short, I got the voltage regulator people told me to get, but it still wasn't charging... ...So I opened the battery bay up... Come to find my battery had a crack in it and was leakin' acid. So, I come to you as to what battery I should buy. Found this one on Amazon for almost $40 (yikes): UPG UT6.5L 12N6.5-3B Sealed AGM Power Sport BatteryMy battery (pictured below) is a DONG JING 12N6.5 (I'm guessing that's the one that came with the moped) So what should I get? I'm looking for a cheap battery. Should I get the exact one I already had? What is 12N? Why not 12V? Also, would I have to get a 6.5 amp battery? Or can I go above 6.5 amp? What are the pros/cons?

OK. I'm going to try this first, then I'll get a battrey if it doesn't work.. I just had the acid in it refilled, so I may be good... We'll see.
Also, do I just need a wrench to pull the voltage regulator off? Or is it just Philips screwdriver? In school, so I want to make it the quickest and easier job (by doing the most prep possible).

Sorry for the bump... but where do I install the voltage regulator? I looked around couldn't find anything...

OK cool. I'll go ahead and do this and keep you all updated on what happens. I hope this is the only problem.

Should I delete the post with the email?
Also, how do I install the regulator? Can someone give me a quick walk through?

OK thanks! Got it. We'll have to see how it goes. Can you explain how to replace the regulator? I've heard it's near the front tire... is that true?
Also, I'm up here in Michigan... any idea how I can ride in the snow without slipping? I've seened some spiked tires, but idk if they would work well or not... Any idea on some good tires or alternative? Maybe chains on the tires?
Thanks a lot! Happy New Year!

Hi All,
I tried two different batteries and the scooter isn't charging both. I had someone replace the acid on one of the batteries too - still no dice. I called Tao Tao and they said the regulator might be bad... any input? Lights turn on while the scooter is on, but the horn does not work anymore/is faint.
