It was a family member that was following me and we opted not to go through the insurance, but to settle outside. I am physically fine...just sore...got one scrape on my elbow because I'd taken off my long shirt and was riding in short sleeves. Had on boots and pants though. The scooter is a lot worse.

Hey All, I used to be cstephen on the old forum. I have a 2006 Linhai Aeolus 300 that I purchased in 2008 as new old leftover stock. It has 10,400 miles. I have always maintained it since new - have a local dealer, and they have kept it serviced. Always garaged. No problems ever except for a couple of CDI replacements. Just did a complete service - engine and gear oils, brake fluid, new plug, antifreeze flush and replacement Then - I got rear-ended on the way home while sitting at a red light. the impact threw me off the scooter and caused me to drop it. The right side sustained a bit of damage - cracked panels at the top and gouges and scratches throughout. The impact from the rear totally destroyed the rear swing arm. Cracked in about 5 places, with the rear axle bolt barely hanging in. I managed to limp it home, but I would NOT ride this anywhere in its current condition. Muffler is busted also. Still runs and rides, but needs some work before it is ridable again. I do have full coverage, but did not file an insurance claim, so the scooter still has a clear title, and is currently registered. I basically just want to scrap it, and start over at a later time with another scooter. I hate to loose it, because the engine had 10,400 miles and was running better than new. What should I ask for it? I was thinking $450 or best offer. It is located in Clinton, Mississippi. Thanks. (The picture IS a CURRENT picture, the damage is on the other side.) If interested, or if you have any suggestions on what to do...e-mail me at web@stephencoleman.net rather than sending me a PM. You can also reply to this post. Attachments:
