Yeah... i think that's what was up, possible the diaphragm got stuck in the petcock, not sure about that one though... it's been running really well since friday. I rode it about 50 miles yesterday with no problems... It has a bit of trouble cold starting and i accidentally broke the screw that tightens my kick starter so i've got to replace that one just for safety (i've got a trickle charger so it's not a huge deal). But yeah, it was taking it a little bit to start up, but last night it fired right up instantly, didnt take me 20 seconds of playing with the throttle...
I'm pretty sure i need to lean the carb down a bit though... i've got a good guide to do it so i'll do that today once i'm done with homework! i'll keep you guys updated and post pics of it too... I really like it haha

So i got it running today. I did what i said before, drained out the gas, put oil in... I was having a ton of problems kick starting it and with the starter motor ceizing up on me... i think it was because it had no oil... luckily i didn't seriously damage the innards. I THINK the reason i had this problem was the hose thing that i mentioned before... OR the petcock somehow got stuck and sucking on the tube fixed it... either way gas was getting into my motor and oil wasn't in there anymore...
That being said, i thought i fixed it before and it wouldnt start the next day... we'll see how it does tomorrow.... i'll keep you guys updated.
Also, i took it on a little ride today and had some trouble getting it to turn over... took me like 30 seconds to get it to actually do it (runs fine once it does). see this video...

Alright i sucked on the vacuum hose to the petcock and heard the diaphragm shift and then, upon more sucking, it created a strong vacuum. I didnt get any gasoline in my mouth. Could the problem be the hose that i had in the wrong place? or that the diaphragm was somehow stuck?
Thanks again guys!
p.s. i am going to run to the store, buy some more 4stroke motor oil as it looks like i'll need to fill it after i'm done doing.... well, whatever it is that i'm doing haha

So i'm going to try and keep you updated as i work on this thing! I checked the carb for hoses that were wrong, and the only thing that was in the wrong place was that i have the drain hose hooked up to the bowl. It was hooked up to the red, not the blue... I pulled out the dipstick and it smelled completely like gas, so i drained the oil pan and pretty much entirely gasoline came out, which is weird because i just filled it with oil less than a month ago... somehow the gas either mixed with the oil or replaced it entirely. Any ideas of how it's getting into there? I'm going to try sucking on the petcock hose to see like psycho suggested... i'll keep you posted! Thanks!

;o Thanks guys for the quick responses, i'll take a look at the petcock in the morning. I'll try that hose thing and see if i get some suction or a mouth full of gas! A major thing that everyone is talking about is making sure the hoses are connected to the right places so i'll double check that in the morning as well! I'll take some pics and more vids if i need to.
I am new to scooters and repair, i'm starting from scratch and learning as i go. I absolutely LOVE riding and want to get this thing going strong!
Thanks again!

My aunt and uncle bought this scooter a little over a year ago with the intent to ride, they got the carb cleaned, etc but let it sit for over a year with gas in the tank (had i only but known!). Anyway, i convinced them to let me borrow it and i had to do so much work on it they just gave it to me (sweet). I have ridden it a total of two days probably in the last two months that i've had it. I had my scooter guy come over and clean the carb, adjust stuff, and we got it running smooth and idling fine. The issue we were having was that there was a ton of gas/oil (maybe) spilling out of the vent. I found a picture online to illustrate where it's coming from. this next picture isn't my engine, but for my lack of knowledge about scooters (i can fix them, i just don't know what all the pieces are called), i circled where the hose that is spewing out gas connects to the motor (it's spewing from the other end). the mixture (it smells like pure gas) spews out more and more as i increase the throttle. So this is the air filter i have... the line that runs from the front plate (circled in original post) runs into the top part of this air filter box and then there is a hose that runs out and just down (blue arrow)... i think it's a drainage hose, but it was capped off (idk why). So here is the picture of the side of my scooter, you can see i have the problem hose disconnected from the air filter box. this is the base of the hose (where the gas is coming from) I've also taken some videos of what is going on. These videos are short so please watch em and help out! (for some reason it started when i tried it... maybe cuz it's been sitting on the charger... anyway, it wouldnt start this morning....) Here is another video explaining the problem... and finally, idk if it's related but it's a problem that's happening when i try and start it... it takes forever sometimes, if it even starts.
