i hate when people ask for help, get help...then never post the resolution of the problem! so... all that was needed was a serious recharge of the battery. after i got the battery to show ~12.6 off of the charger, i slapped it on the bike and it started right up. took it out for a 20 minute ride and it rides as good as the day i bought it! full disclosure: i'm fixing this up to sell it. i love my scooter, but i've got bills coming due soon and am forced to give it up. you guys are awesome! thanks for all the feedback, i can honestly say scootdawg (itistheride) is the best board out there for info on chinascoots. be safe out there, everyone!

hi all, i used to lurk a lot before they changed sites. i've learned so much here! i'm hoping i can learn a little more. here's the deal:
i was just taking care of my scoot (tank urban sporty 150cc) after it had been sitting for a few months. cleaned the carb and reinstalled everything correctly. i had the battery hooked up to the trickle charger for a while and popped it in the scoot when it read over 12A. hit the starter button and it was really struggling. i then jumped the scoot off of my car battery (i kept my car off, don't worry!) and it spun right up no problem. unfortunately, the throttle was stuck open and i had to turn the key off to keep it from flying away. i turned it back on after that and nothing- no lights, no horn, no starter...nothing! the kickstart shaft is sheared off so i can't test it via kicking it over. i know the engine is good since i had it going for a little while, but i feel as though i might have fried my electrical system by over-charging the battery. is this possible? i replaced the fuse coming off the positive battery wire and still no dice. i have a multimeter and am fairly smart with mechanical stuff, but i'm hoping someone here could tell me where to start to get this thing running. thanks fellas! -nate
