ok ive replaced the bbk with a new one. the piston ended up having three lines in it from it rubbing and was starting to make groves. starts up fine and sounds great just have two problems now. I still have an oil leak coming from the big air box above my cvt when I turn off and the 2nd is that when I give it gas its revving high but speeding up slow.

well the valve springs and the gap are good. I plan on taking the valves completely off and seeing how they look. Friday im taking it to where I bought it and they are going to do a dionag on it for $30. im thinking that I burnt the rings and after I buy another base gasket I will find out cus I most likely with rip mine when I take the chug out

ok but what would cause the oil to leak into the air filter box enough that it leaks out the back and makes a small puddle when shut off and cools

ok but that doesn't explain why all of a sudden it started to get jerky because ive been riding it this was since December. also this mornning I noticed that I have a lot of oil leaking from the main air filter box. its not pouring out but when I shut off and let it cool down theres a small puddle behind the scooter.

I was thinking that I had locked the piston up and that might be why when driving it gets jerky. so would that mean if I got another bbk that it would stop?

the carb and jets are all stock straight from the factory. they where the original that was on the scooter when I bought it, but I took off and used one from me spare parts scooter that I had just cleaned until it messed up and had to put original carb back on 2 weeks ago.

sounds like the carb needs to be replaced or cleaned if its not one of those that has the sealed bowls. replaceing the vaccum and gas lines will help too. but the main problem seems to be the carb. I had the same problem with my taotao and replaced mine with a spare carb I had. started right up. I also gapped my valves to .003 for both even tho I have heard .004 will work but it wouldn't start with it gapped to .004

I have a 2012 tao tao 50cc that I put a 80cc bbk on. Everything was fine until my belt broke. I have replaced with a powerlink belt but still need to clean out the left over belt dust. Well it just shut off in traffic yesterday and wouldn't crank over at all and when I tried to kick start the lever wouldn't budge at all. got it to final move after a few minutes and got it to start. got it home and let it sit until morning then I checked oil. was barely on the stick so I filled it and took for a spin. started and idled fine, accelerated fine but after it gets to a certain speed it starts to jerk like a transmission slip in a car. anyone have any idea what is the cause and how to fix?

iv just used 10w-30 and 15w-45 motor oil in my 2011 and 2012 taotao 50 cc and have 4000-7000 miles on and have a carbon build up on both the top of piston and where the valves are.
