Never saw either of the old original shows, so can't really say.
But I do wonder, why are they wearing the same belt?

Flash Gordon, 1936, with Buster Crabbe. Flash thwarts the evil schemes of Emperor Ming the Merciless. Buck Rogers, 1939, also with Buster Crabbe. Buck thwarts the tyrannical despot, Killer Kane.
Buck spun off "Duck Dodgers" and Buck Godot. More people wanted to be more macho, like Buck.

I forgot about Duck Dodgers. Plus Buck had a reboot in my youth. I totally wanted to grow up to be Colonel Wilma Deering. And while Flash had a vaguely recent movie, I believe the soundtrack was better than anything else about it?
Hm. Just wondered. Did William Theiss create the costumes for the newer Buck Rogers? Seems my memories of Princess...Adella? had her mostly in sparkly bikinis and cloaks.

I only saw those shows (originals) a few times. However, I will pick Flash, because Queen did that cool song about him. (Flash!Ah-Ah!)
