I have a 2004 Eton Beamer 2T, 49cc, has the Minarelli Jog motor (like in Zumas) and looking to install the 70cc BBK this summer.
This is supposed to have a Mikuni 18mm carb but it came with a cheap chinese carb the previous owner put on, which was installed incorrectly and damaged. I replaced with another chinese carb which ran great for a few weeks then began to drip gas on my garage floor due to a flaky needle valve, and I decided to just cut my loss on the carb, it was cheap. Bike has been sitting since last october and I want to get it back on the road.
I want to replace the chinese carb with a Mikuni and start riding again, then sometime in summer do a BBK. Is the stock spec 18mm carb going to be too restrictive for the BBK, or should I do a 20mm? And If I do 20mm now is that going to not work well with the 49cc?

Not to restrictive period at the end of the day oversized carbs a sorry excuse for scrappy jetting a good jet kit can make your carb pull as good as the new one personally I would use a Keihin 18mm. Typical Carb size up to 100cc is about 16mm- 19mm no bigger unless you have some sort of scoot in which you had no new top ends available and had to swap from a older product to create a bbk. In my application I have to either switch to a stock Yamaha RIVA top end from an cv 80 or look for a Honda aero 80 or 125. Upjet the main jet mainly if the piolet takes leave it a lone and do clip height if your on the 5th notch or 4th notch tdepending if it's a 4 or 5 flipper that's a sign you need to upjet after gnu I know for sure your going to need a new main though possiably like -100 depending on your elevation from sea level. I'd wait til you slap the new bbk first then order your carb so you will have a feed start point. Seems like your on a Bing bong scoot so you should have access to all types of clone parts.
