Gotta go with Spartans - a handful of them fought off thousands of Phoenicians...

The horns are fantasy. In reality the Vikings ruled. I am a cross of Cossack and Norman English with a touch of Scottish. The Vikings did not rape and pillage Scotland, the Scots thought the Vikings were just having fun. Vikings settled in France, Normandy, and the Normans moved in England in 1066 and that was the last people that invade England. The Vikings also went into Russia, and south and took Kiev circa AD850. Which means I am partially Viking on both sides of the family. On the other hand, the Spartans were minions. Macho? I don't think so: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality_in_the_militaries_of_ancient_Greece

"Gotta go with Spartans - a handful of them fought off thousands of Phoenicians..." Agreed. Can't think of anything more macho than 300 Spartans defending the pass at Thermopylae against an entire empire.

"Can't think of anything more macho than 300 Spartans defending the pass at Thermopylae".. I must correct myself. I'm not a native Texan, but he defense of the Alamo in 1836 rivals the achievement of the Spartans at Thermopylae. I'm a little surprised that Leo hasn't reminded us of the defenders of the Alamo.
