A dear friend had a mini-dachshund named Sausage. She ran in the first weiner dog race. Ended up winning the whole thing. He has a great picture of her sitting up on her hind end, with her trophy that's taller than she was.
And my uncle had a full-size named Gretchen who eventually was almost as wide as she was long. Every Sunday Auntie Ruth would make pancakes for breakfast, because Gretchen got a couple.
Screw it. I'm changing my vote. Dachshunds are better in all ways.
