My magnum 300 was running good but it was not charging the battery. I had already changed r/r due to bad diodes. Still not charging so changed stator. After I put it back together I started it up. It took several tries. I let it warm up while I watched the voltage gauge. It was showing 13.5 volts. so I try to give it a little throttle and bring up the rpm and see if voltage goes up The engine bogged, shuddered, backfired then died. I checked to see if I knocked any thing loose but all looked good. Started it back up (it started right up) It idles smooth at between 980rpm and 1010rpm. I blip the throttle and it does the same thing. Tried again, even if I barley twist the throttle, same thing. I haven't checked to see if auto choke is working yet.. Any comments as to why it would start running like this right after I changed the stator? Before it Idled between 850 and 900 rpm and ran perfect.
