update...
(as this problem continues to be resolved)
the other day after a nice 20 minute ride, everything seemed fine. until a couple hours later when i go to work only to find that it will not start. something seems wonky.. it begins to start and then just wont.. and the kickstart isn't sounding good at all.. something isn't right.
take off the cover, and the bendix is messed up. replaced that. still won't start. showing the same signs that there is resistance on the starter that is preventing it from engaging the bendix fast enough to get the engine started. drained the oil, filled it up. same deal. my mechanic buddy says he is certain he has figured it out.
this all started after a clutch change and roller weight change. he says that something is going on in the variator that is preventing the gears from matching up properly. off by milimeters. he says he is goign to take it apart today, replace the sliders/guides (one of which was on the way out) and suspects that it is a part of the equation. not sure if he is going to have to put a gasket on the case.. as when the case is on but not tight, the engine will start up just fine.
its only when you tighten the bolts to the CVT case that it prevents it from starting.
fun fact, the new starter turns over the engine worse.. suggesting that the old starter was 'worn in' to a slight change in the orientation of something in the assembly there..
i just want my darn scooter back.. i have a redbox movie that is now costing me 6 bucks and need to pay my rent (need a ride for both)
lol.. first world problems i know.. but.. i need my bike fixed.
also another fun fact, the engine wouldn't start w/ my carb on it.. but would just fine w/ another (w/ the cvt case bolts on but not tight.

They sell high torque starters on eBay. Search for it. Also, DO NOT USE "performance " or "racing CDI. Use the stock CDI, and a high torque starter. Also, replace cable going to starter, and from battery to engine ground with at least 10g wire.

Good BBK to start up and run.
I know this topic is sooo of, but I have been needing with this BBK for weeks. I have had too much compression and bike will not start. I have the upgraded carb, computer, coil, everything..... I've have been taking this bike apart and putting back together for weeks now. I've even returned one kit and got another. But same problem. Bike just felt like it had to much compression. When it got to about TDC the starter would struggle to turn over.
So...... what I find was the gear that goes from the starter to the flywheel was binding.... I pulled the case off and held that great with plyers loosely so it could spin and the fan thing stared right up.
I'm buying a new cover now.
