Sometimes, you come across something SO cool, you just have to share it.
I found this on the Internet, and have no info on it. I don't know WHAT it is, but I LIKE it! Talk about old-school classic... I think it might have been built by the Blastolene Brothers. Looks like their work. Not many scooters but theirs have DOORS... LOL!
I can picture my nasty, arthritic old self settling down INSIDE this masterpiece, at a red-light, feet down Fred Flintstone style, or, laid-back in the leather and "doing the dime" down my favorite freeway... Ah, one can dream...
Anyway, if I was building a scoot from scratch, I'd be mighty pleased if it came out like this. Long, low, classy and "Golden Age" in style. Hopefully it has at LEAST a 650-800 cc mill (a sweet little modern fuel-injected CAR engine/tranny would be nice) and can use those aerodynamics to cruise the limit and WAY more.
Looks to me like about a $40-grand scoot... With no info on it whatsoever, one can imagine it's most anything...
It is SOOOOO cool!!!
Enjoy!

Makes me think an old Rolls married a scooter, and this is their offspring. Beautiful lines to it!

Reminds me of a Randy Grub creation.

WOW!
So, it's a MOTORCYCLE! And a Henderson to boot. And NO doors! I'd have bet it was a Randy Grub creation.
It's STILL one of the classiest rides I've seen. The design seems tailor-made for a Randy Grub Blastolene design WITH doors and automotive bucket seat... I first saw the "Decopod" on TV's "Storage Wars" and fell in love with the concept. Barry Weiss shows up on a plethora of major-cool vehicles including the Blastolene Decopod and Decoliner... Also, some over-the-top cars and vintage bikes.
However, that "Decopod" scooter has an appeal that is hard to ignore. I'd like to see some maker known for nostalgia like Harley Davidson, Indian or even Honda, Yamaha etc. make a scooter like the Decopod. It has the appeal of a movie prop, a bumper-car, a WWI fighter plane and a futuristic "Flash Gordon" ride all in one.
The original concept for one rider, with maybe storage in the rear is likely the best-looking due to its cute "egg" shape, but a scooter frame could be stretched a little and a second cockpit placed in-line like an old biplane.
The concept and look is just SO appealing it seems there would be a market for something like this, albeit a small one. The "flying egg" would likely appeal to the VERY old, and the VERY young, and not necessarily to bike/scooter enthusiasts, but to those who really are drawn to unique transportation... There might even be room under the egg for enough batteries to do a credible electric version for the green crowd!
The one-off Randy Grub Decopods are all hand-made, VERY expensive, and by necessity require a LONG wait to get one. But... Mass-produced stamped-metal or molded fiberglass would allow an economical way to put a bunch of these on the road at prices no higher than existing scooters.
If I was on the design team of a scooter or motorcycle company, I'd surely propose a trial-run of 'em...
