Does anyone either know how to run a 50cc qmb w/ variator cover off or some way to check rear clutch pulleys for round? That is very important. I have no idea how to look at pulleys while spinning except I greased up a front Axel but I don't know how telling that is seeing as how there was something bumping like the bearing. Probably not as good as seeing it hook up and spin on the stand.

Put the cover on with 2 bolts. Start it. Take off the 2 bolts, and remove the cover. Only thing that could happen is the starter clutch could pull out and get jammed. Hmmmm....
Take the starter clutch out of there. Put the cover back on. Kick start it, and take the cover off. I cut the back 3/4 of my CVT cover off.

gy6er, steve That was what I was thinking...cut some out on back. I way don't want to wreck into an inanimate object while tearing up back road curves cause of belt heat! Yippee, I'll hack into her. I way missed the kick start thing

It is some work with a hack saw. It does keep the clutch much, much cooler, though.
Remember, you can also pull the starter clutch, put the cover on, kick start it, and remove the cover while it is running to check it out.
