Hi all.
I have recently bought a TGB Xrace 150 and would like to do a few mods to it, mainly just to improve appearance - I'm not really looking to spend $ for more power. Anyway I have several questions in regards to this.
So far I'm thinking of adding:
- Tinted flyscreen - Backrest - Fender Eliminator - Exhaust
Can anyone recommend any other aesthetic upgrades I could make?
In regards to the fender eliminator, I can not find any online that are listed as specifically compatible with the TGB Xrace 150, so how am I able to purchase one that I know is appropriate? I went in to a local scooter mechanic shop today and the mechanic told me there's no way of buying one and I'd have to make one myself.
In regards to the exhaust, there are also none that I can find online that are listed as specifically compatible with the TGB Xrace 150, so I have been looking for exhausts listed as being compatible with a GY6 150cc scooter. I showed a couple of them to the mechanic today that could be purchased from the USA (I am in Australia) and he told me they wouldn't be compatible with my bike as they are American and that I should buy an Australian exhaust. He also said that any custom exhaust added would reduce the power and I would have to spend an additional $1500 to have it all tuned etc. Does this all sound right? The guy came across as a bit of a dick so I am not sure how much I trust him.
I also read that the TGB Xrace 150 is basically a rebranded TGB 303rs, does this mean that any part or accessory purchased for a 303rs will be compatible with the Xrace 150?
Sorry for the long post and all the questions, but any help would be very much appreciated!

Snickers, "Someone's trying to rip you off, and not doing a very good job of it." DDG's your scooter, "Ok, fairly generic sport style bike, not sure what the aftermarket, but there's a fair number of sources here in America, and if you can figure out how, you should be able to find a fair amount in China ifn that's closer." "Now, lets get to work. For the most part an exhaust is an exhaust is an exhaust. If there were serious emissions laws here or there, then there might be something to that claim, but otherwise, its basically a pipe and a muffler, no reason why one from here won't work there, shipping is the only issue. Dunno what a fender eliminator is, so i can't answer anything on that, ditto for the backrest; outside of scooters like Joker clones that include one, i've never seen one on a scooter. On that body style you have, the flyscreen should be easy to get, at least over here."

Yup, run far away from that "mechanic". A quick search for parts turned up this www.scooterwreckers.com.au/tgb_main.htmIt appears that TGB was a manufacturer/parts supplier for Piaggio as well as several others, so there should be some cross compatibility as far as parts go. Reviews seem to be very good on TGB.. Ah, here we go. You might have already found this: tgbforum.com/Hope that helps....
