If after you replace that hose you still have the problem my question would be this, when its not starting are you getting proper connection through the ignition switch, one thing to try is look at you fuel gauge. When no key turned in the ignition it should be at E, turn the key on and it should raise to you fuel level, now giggle the key lightly. Just light taps should tell you. If you see the needle bounce up and down then your looseing connection. I had that problem in the past its not always the first thing you think to check. If that's the case get some electrical contact cleaner (O'Reillys has it) stick the straw past the little cover in the key hole and give a little sprits or two (don't flood it) then quickly put your key in and turn it to on and off several times, solved it for me on my last scooter and my old motorcycle. Only other thing if after you try everything else is maybe the coil is going out.

wellbefore I even got a chance to try that a new problem arose. 2 days ago while riding to work. the scooter suddelny kicked and sputtered and the engine cut off. when i tried to start it back up, i could here and see the fan spinning but the engine didn't appear to be turning over. so i just walked it the rest of the way since i was right there anyway. later that night after i left my job and went over to my scooter i pressed the remote start on the scooter not expecting it to start up. It actually did start and coasted a little off the kickstand and fell over and cut off. I was utterly confused about and tried to start it again but it wouldn't start. when I tried with the remote start I could hear it turn once then stop.when I pressed and held the start button. it would turn once, stop, and then start to try to turn over but wouldn't catch. Best way I could describe it is to say it was struggling to turn over, and then after a few more attempts it went back the fan spinning but the engine not cranking. And as a detail before I left for work my area was hit by a 30 minute torrential down pour a few hours before I left work and I leave my scooter sitting outside uncovered. My guess is that water got some where it wasn't supposed to?
