I was a little hesitant about purchasing a scooter from an online retailer, but I took the plunge and couldn't be happier. Scooter madness had the lowest price around for a Tao Tao Quantum 150cc ($949). At first I was a little worry about their lack of customer service because I made numerous calls during the first day because I selected the wrong color. I couldn't get a hold of anyone and their phone line keep on going to voicemail. After making contact with a person I then realize that the company is fairly small and contacting them by phone is probably not the most effective way to reach out to them. The lady that I spoke with was very polite and kind during our whole conversation. She did everything she could, but they were out of stock on the color that I wanted. It took less than a week to get to me. The package was damage on the outside but the scooter was unharmed. The delivery went very smooth and the driver even took the time to make sure I was happy with the delivery service. I performed a Post delivery inspection right away and noticed that the side mirror was missing. Contacted Scooter Madness and they responded within minutes and had one sent out to me. We exchanged several other conversation regarding the purchase and every time they were on point and made the transaction very pleasant.
As far as the scooter build, it seem very solid and all the bolts were tighten. I noticed that there was a "passed" sticker on the scooter on top of the windshield that lead me to believe that their quality control has improved over the years. I added loctite on the bolts that were questionable such as the wheel axel, suspension, and steering column.
