I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with my scoot. For the first 10-15 minutes of riding I can coast at 40 and get up to 50-55, but then after 10-15 minutes my top speed is like 38 and my coasting speed turns to about 30. Thought it could have been transmission related so I've been experimenting with it.
Also when I hit about 45-50 I hear a loud like FWOMP noise and the scooter jerks. I used to be able to ride at 50-55 easy without noises or issues. It also feels like I am losing torque somehow when I get into the high end it feels like it is going fast but the power does not feel like it changes between mid and high range. Everything in the transmission looks great, the problem seems to happen nomatter what I do with the transmission, I even took out every single part and changed them all for new ones, no change in the issue. Still seems to drop performance after a little riding and make weird noises when going fast.

when you say you checked the transmission did you also check the faces on the rear clutch?

well the only thing i can think of since you have replaced all the tranny parts, and its a weird one, is the crappy diaphragm on your carb has finely worn out, they stretch a bet over time, and wont raise as much, to let as much fuel and air into the cylinder.

Checked the carb too, even tried moving the needle clip, no change to the issue. It's a 3 month old KeiHin, I highly doubt it's worn out. I haven't even been using this scoot much lately since I got a second one built and moving. It's so weird though, I've been all over the scoot trying to figure it out. It kind of seems like I have lower compression after running, it becomes easy to move the crankshaft by hand, a few months ago it had so much compression I ended up getting a new starter and rewired everything to give the starter more power. I only use this scoot nowadays when time is a factor or if I plan to ride on roads where traffic has a steady rate of 40+, which is maybe twice a week. In my experience the FWOMP noise and jerking come from belts rubbing the bendix, and there IS a line on the belt now from it rubbing which might explain the resistance feeling or loss of torque in the high end, but I have replaced everything and got the same results so I am stumped.

i wish i could hear the sound cause i get a fwhomp sound when my valves are to tight at high rpm, or when i over rev the engine and the valves float a bit. but your having some kind of belt issue, weird.
