So the other day I helped someone who was stuck alongside the road, he had a bad belt. I helped him by using my emergency impact wrench and spare belt. Today he came over to get me to help him put a tire on a new rim.
The entire time before I finally got to the rim, because he was very stubborn and wouldn't let me take the muffler off, he was screaming louder than anyone should scream period, about crystal meth, how much he loved it, how much he loved being on it, how good he felt right now, and I was just like please sir calm down and get away from me. He approaches me as I'm holding his rim, telling me I NEED to be on meth like him, he's trying to tell me how I would do so much scooter work on meth because it makes you do stuff or something, and he starts raising his voice, now randomly changing the subject about how he thinks he got the wrong rim because it didn't have a valve in it. I try to tell him please, I have told you countless times now, please stop talking about how much you love meth, especially stop doing it at the top of your voice volume. This guy wouldn't stop, and now he's screaming at me walking up to me and I dropped the rim and put my fists up because I honestly did not know what to expect from him. I only helped him once before.
I did not charge him, I even offered to give him another rim I had that was taken off my scooter with 650 miles. He punched my porch, started screaming and made a big fit. The thing is the rim only had a piece of dirt on it which he refused to allow me to remove. He then after driving it away came back with a huge dent in his rim with what looked like something like a hammer caused because it had circular dents in it the size of a hammer head. He then demanded I buy him a new rim right away, at 3pm on a Saturday when no shops are open.
I also noticed right after he came back complaining that 2 of my spre batteries were missing, he was asking about them earlier, a lot of my tools went missing, a couple bags of spare parts are now gone.... All I was trying to do was help someone and they royally screwed me...
I try to be a nice guy, I try to help people, I try so hard to keep smiling and just keep helping people but this just makes me feel like telling everyone to go figure it out themselves, to not ask me for help, even though I can help them. At least maybe from now on I will not stop and help anyone on the side of the road... Though I feel that is stupid because I like helping people and I shouldn't be discouraged to do so by one horribly insane druggie guy.

Drug addicts are not people you want near your house, forget letting them in, the only thing inside and addict head is how to get a fix, no matter how. Go to the police and tell them the story, probably you won't get your stuff back, but if he gets caught he won't be able to come back later and take more of your stuff.

Look Lain, someone needs to give you a swift kick in the rear for not using your brain... I think this is the wrong place and time for a delicate way to tell you that you screwed up.
You didn't follow your instincts, the very second the guy even mentioned meth, you should've severed contact and got a hold of the authorities. Meth/Crack/Heroin/ICE addicts are not like some young kid that tokes a joint here and there. They are very dangerous and I highly recommend you still contact the Authorities and get a restraining order. If he knows where you live, you need to take this seriously. If he's identified you as a mark, you have to get ready because at some point he will aim for his target.
Another example of "No good deed goes un-punished!!!

True, and my friend was telling me before the guy ever mentioned drugs that he got a bad vibe from the guy. I thought it was just because he was homeless but after this I can see why I need to be more careful.
I honestly do not know how to prevent anymore thefts. The cops are already on the lookout for the guy and I am only 2 blocks from the station! It seems they changed thier normal route since they came to my house and I told them what happened. They used to use the main street now they come thru my street it seems all the time.
I have my landlord's friend's scooter in my back yard (carb issues) and a friends scoot in the back stripped down so I can swap the stator and some other stuff when some tools and stuff arrive, he ended up dropping it off earlier today before the druggie showed up. The druggie was taking lots of pics of the scoot ready for the stator swap and whatnot and was trying to convince me to give it to him for meth..........
I honestly did feel like telling the guy to leave when he started talking about meth but was kind of scared of what he would do... My little sister, 13 years old, was in the back yard with her cat. The neighbors were all looking out the window at this guy, and did not come out till after the guy left then they all complained about him.
I have the gate locked now, never locked it before, had to buy a lock. The only way to get over the fence now it to break it because it is already in bad shape. I also attached bells tot he gate and my window is right above the gate so I would hear it.
Put alarms in 2 of the scoots, and attached bicycle alarms to the other 2, chained all of the scooters together by thier front and back wheels and to the concrete holding the porch up. I also brought everything in that wasn't bolted down. No tools or anything I had left is outside. I have junk scooter parts I would be glad if were stolen because I wouldn't have to pay my friend to take them. Besides that just chained up scooters all with alarms.

i moved out of my last apartment because i suspected my roommate was on meth. he was definitely on something. guy was up 24/7 the entire week before christmas. i came in late one night and he was outside hanging christmas lights at 3am with a small radio playing a little too loud, imo. he finger painted the walls and got glitter in and on the washer and dryer. another night he was on the back patio dumping gas in the yard creating bonfires. claimed he was killing the weeds when i asked him "what the he!! you doing?" i stayed there 2 months and was serious close to moving into a motel or tent before i found my new place.
hopefully you don't see him again. otherwise build a doghouse and find a tenant.

I will admit I am a recovering addict from meth, been sober almost 13 years. Not trying to condone it but I was not that bad, I did not use all the time, I never pawned or stole anything to get my fix. I enjoyed the feeling I got while on it, but hated the fall when it was over usually 2-3 days later. So I would be awake for those 2-3 days. I knew others that were so bad into it they would go weeks without sleep, steal, pawn do whatever they could to get it. After that amount of time they would start to have hallucinations, be extremely aggressive, and in the next minute crying. Someone on meth can be very unpredictable, I hope you never see this guy again, but if you do call 911 immediately, try to get inside and just do what you can to be safe and keep your family safe.

That's exactly how he was acting. He was yelling then crying off and on, crying about how he wanted meth, how he missed the old days, how he wanted that scooter I was fixing for my friend, and yelling about how awesome it was to be on meth.

Meth is so bad here in Indiana (look it up). Probably 1 out 6 people arrested in the county I live in, is meth related.
I got woke up by a flash bomb going off, at 7am a month or two ago, from a house right out back of where I live (raided). LOUD, lol. A mom and daughter both got busted a few houses down in front of where I live.
There's been a handful of people I've worked with, another handful of people I went to school with, another handful I used to hang out with..etc. It's insane.

Warn your little sister if she sees him to run to a safe haven. If shes in the house and he knocks on the door to call 911. Back in the late 80's early 's crack was big the addicts would cop the drugs and swallow the vials, when they got off the street they would throw it up and smoke it. The idea was if the cops stopped you they did not find the drugs so they would have to let you go. John

Sorry you ran into a druggie while trying to help. I still believe in helping people stranded on the side of the road. I have been stranded a few times.

Warn your little sister if she sees him to run to a safe haven. If shes in the house and he knocks on the door to call 911. John That needs a double or triple like! The mopeds and other "stuff" can be replaced... Make sure you sit your sister down and explain the dangers and the procedure to deal with such an event.

I smell a little instant lead poisoning ,,, man I hate thieves Or tough love taps from an aluminum baseball ball.... they make such a cool ringing sound. But if you're more into organic, then a standard ash Louisville slugger will do..... and don't stop until he's down..... I don't mean to promote violence but methheads have NO reasoning, conscience or soul when they are in that condition and WILL hurt you without compunction just to get what they want..... almost zombie like.

WOW!!! This story sounds like a bad dream. There was a time when I felt like you, and would stop to lend a hand, but times have changed. There are more criminals, low lives, and scumbags than ever, nobody has enough cell space available to keep them confined....so the streets are over flowing with these dirt bags. So no more playing Mr. AAA for me...and besides, now a days everyone has a cell phone, so I just drive on by, and let them deal with their problem by themselves.
Know this sounds kinda self centered and cold hearted......but that's the way I feel
Hope your problems with this guy are over, and he gets what he deserves.
