I looked on the net and found some interesting pix...
And then, there ARE big REAR wheels...
Cheesh... The BOSS HOSS with a Chevy 502 cid V8 and way over 500 hp makes my old chopper look pretty tame... I've ridden with guys on the Boss Hoss and they are HUMONGOUS... And VERY fast...
Ride safe, one and all, and enjoy the ride on our little scooter wheels...

PS: Holy road-rash Batman... I just noticed the SIX Nitrous bottles on back of the the Boss Hoss. THAT "bottle baby" is pumping out WAY over 1,000 hp. Be still my beating heart... What an E-ticket ride! Can you say "0-60 in a half-second?" or "0-150 in 6 seconds?" Woo-HOO! Ride 'em cowgirl, and HANG ON!

Wheels that size make for a very slow handling machine,,,,and there's a couple boss hoss's running around here,,,kinda crazy,,,they don't handle well either,,too much weight ,,,I never got that kind of thing myself,,reminds me of the guy that built the roadog way back in the sixties,,,a gigantic thing weighing over 3000 pounds,,,kinda silly,,,whatever rings your bell I guess

Just what I want a bike with a couple of 10 gallon gas tanks in my lap.
If you want insane just get a Viper V10 powered Tomahawk.

Even Scotty Parker had his hands full with that thing,,,,ego's are such a strange thing,,,other than a design study i can't get my head around why anyone would want something like that,,,any of these gigantic barges,,,that's not what motorcycling is all about,,,for me anyways

My 250cc Aprilia is just fine for me along with my little TurboDiesel 124 Spider. At my age I have come to realize the truth that its in fact more fun to go fast on a slow bike or car then to go slow in a fast one.

That "squashed" rear end actually IS full-size Hog. The out-of-proportion front end makes it look tiny. I suppose the giant front wheels are simply the "bagger equivalent" to the 7-foot chopper front forks. There's just no explaining personal taste, OR how it becomes a fad... LOL!
I do appreciate the hard work involved in these mega-buck customs, but I don't like the look. Just me. I'm glad to see in the hard-core chopper magazines, old-school bobbers beginning to reappear as road-ready rides.
Back in the day, I was all Harley. Fifty years later, I'm truly all-scooter. I loved scooters even back then, but today's scoots are light-years ahead of those of my youth. (My old, worn 250 has performance as good as the 250-350 motorcycles of my day...) And, these scooters embody the simple, easy-to-work-on basic fun of the big bikes from the fifties. They have brought back the affordable, do-it-yourself enjoyment I had with my Hogs and Brit bikes from back then. If you want to put your mark on a scooter, you can make a cheap, used 250-650 scooter into as good a custom, OR cruiser as a 60's brit 650 or Harley twin back then... And MUCH cheaper, considering today's dollar.
Here's a GREAT example... With some time, tools, imagination and a reasonable sum of money, most riders could make a ride similar to this. And look just as good as any chopper-jockey in the process. Scooters offer the same enjoyment as big bikes of a half-century ago. SWEET! And ya jus' gotta luv them Shinko wide-whites!
Today's scoots are a trip BACK in time, to a more fun bike-era, yet incorporate the best technology of TODAY. That is just about "irresistible" to anyone who likes things on 2 (or 3) wheels.
Like your "Peej" my old "Minnie Mouse" will remain true to her scooter DNA... Just with a few old-school American touches to remind me why I like her so much... LOL!
Ride safe!

There are some nice bobbers out there that are modern scooter based as well. This is a Yamaha TMAX 530 Click on the image for the large size.

You would be surprised what they are doing locally with the Ruckus, a little frame stretching, custom wheels and a bottle of nitrous. And they are doing if for less than the cost of just that 33" rim and tire most times.

Yup! THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! MOST of us look at our scooters as MUCH more than a cheap way to get to Wally World... LOL! That they ARE, for sure, but... They're also a blank canvas for guyz and galz to attack with the wrench and rattle-can. It's FUN! And just plain "natural" for Americans... Or any riders, in any country...
Today's scooters have brought back much of the same enjoyment to budget-minded riders as the old Harleys, Triumphs, BSAs and early Asian bikes brought us a full half-century ago! Whether you want "bare bones" or "sport" or "custom" or "tourer"... In-town low n' slow bling, highway cruiser, bobbed and chopped or just plain "experimental" you can now do it with a scooter, AND not have to spend $50K to do it. You can start with a $200 used GY6, an old water-cooled 250 or even a beat-up 400 or bigger scooter. Then get out the tools and paint and have at it: just like we did in the fifties and sixties.
SWEET!
It's a combination of the BEST of the old days, with the BEST of modern technology in an affordable package... Home-brewed fun on wheels just doesn't get better than that...
Ride safe, and ride it YOUR way...

Have a bone on the old chopper guy...
