That's not a bad price actually.

That's not a bad price actually. it was a bit cheaper when i got it @ 24.99... The big chrome ones look nice but they look a bit difficult to hook up and you need additional cable. This one only needed one wire to be wrapped around the coil. I was able to pass the wire underneath the front fender using a metal coat hanger. Metal coat hanger first and then wrapped the signal wire around wire metal and taped it and pulled it trough... it worked... wish the signal cable was 6 inches longer and I could have mounted on top of the starring wheel... currently it does not reach. The signal wire is about 3 feet if I had to guess. Hope this helps.

Is that cable easy to extend, I wonder, or is it some special cable?
Even with my scoot having a 50cc body, it prob still wouldn't reach the dash on mine. I haven't given much thought about mounting it on my scooter anyway and leaving it there. It's more of something just to have when I feel the need to check my RPM for whatever reason.
I have a built-in stock tach that seems fairly accurate, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. That tach is prob more accurate even though only $30.

It's called a wasted spark system. Many engines use it, including many cars. They fire each revolution of the crank. It's a simple design and it works very well. Even my goldwing uses it. I had an ' chevy berretta that used it, a Pontiac grand am that used it.. my lawn tractor uses it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasted_spark

geh3333 urbanmadness dmartin95Rhode the scoot to work today and I am not sure if I can go a bit lighter on the rollers. I really wanted to. To me it does not sound like the scooter is screaming but the tachometer seems to indicate otherwise. I do notice that my idle goes up after 30 minutes of riding it seems to idle around 2200 rpm, if I lower the idle it would be fine but then on start up it give me problems. On straights I am not really going over 7400 RPM, occasionally I was hitting 7700 RPM on some down hills. I am on 12 Grams rollers now, wanted to put on 11 Grams DR pulley sliders is that advisable? If it is 500 RPM increase per gram, that would put me at about 7200 RPM on take off and hill climbing and 7700 RPM on flats and 8200 RPM on slight down hills. Does that sound dangerous for my engine? My scoot is a Znen so supposedly should have better internals then a tatao.... Thank you

I went ahead an ordered 11G DR Pulley sliders... they will take 2 weeks to get here from Taiwan. My local shop did not have them, I do not mind paying a couple of dollars more to help the local shop but in this case was a lot more because of his shipping cost.

Slight down hills 70mph, what was interesting rpms were not climbing much they seemed to peak around 7700 rpm but speeds kept climbing. My speedometer seems to be as accurate as any car still off for sure but I do not think it is off more then 3mph

Since the engine and the back wheel are separate components only connected by a rubber belt you will not max your speed by simply reaching max RPM. That is why you tune the transmission, to tune how the "power" from the crankshaft is delivered to the back wheel and how counterpressure is delivered back.

Wow , your gaining 10 mph down small inclines. Or are they small hills ? I would try to do a GPS run if you can . it would be nice to see how close those numbers are. I can usually gain around 3-6 mph down small inclines . and about 10 -13 mph down big hills.
I like rollers . I've had sliders flip out for place on me numerous times. If your at 12 grams I'd mix 3 12's and 3 11's to get a mixture of 11.5 grams . that mixture would be perfect.

well what is the definition of small incline? lol. We have some very steep hills in CT where I can hit 80 MPH in a full nija tuck, but i did it only once as I was racing my b-law and did not even notice until I saw his exhaust blow black smoke and I stopped and looked at me speed... as I wont be doing that again... hahaha small incline to me is one that is very noticeable by eye
I guess I could do a GPS run, but to be honest I do not know how to secure it and I am afraid it will fall off. I did do a GPS run once just to see how off my speedometer was and I kept the GPS next to my feet where it was repaired by winds. That is why I know my speedo is not too much off.
Thanks for the info on the sliders... I hope I do not have the same results as you as that would suck. How did you know they flipped what were the symptoms?

You could pocket the gps or use your phone and look at the max speed reached during trip when you come to a safe stop.

I thought that phone gps were not accurate. I've used DigiHUD with good results. It does not need anything but a GPS connection which is good since I have only an old android phone with no service on it. I personally use a windshield and have a suction cup mount on the windshield for my phone. Accuracy is good with the above app, but as you know if you have a bad phone or it lags a lot with the gps app it may not read accurately but should still give you a good idea of the top speed since it calculates based on pinging the satellites and tracking distance between pings to tell how fast one is going.
