Hey y'all Im new around here just wanted to say hi. Quick background I've been messing with these scooters now for a year or so and starting to get pretty decent with them, I've been putting them together for local dealer as well. Anyway, I just got a new 150 TaoTao Quantum Tour, and its a great scoot. Runs like a top, no issues there but for some reason my breaks feels squishy. I know how to adjust rear ones, just kinda hung up on the front. I'm an auto tech for a living so pretty much just kinda need a little run down of some troubleshooting. Thanks all! Happy to be apart of the fourm!!

^^^what he said... you have air in the brake line, bleed the brakes.

Well thanks guys, now next dumb question, what's the standard procedure for that? I have the ABS valve as well if that changes anything.

I always use reverse bleeding, easiest and fastest way to do it, you just need big syringe and a plastic hose

I personally just disconnect the caliper from the shock and tie it to the side of a bucket (don't want it hanging by the brake line) then I just pump it until it is empty. Then I fill the reservoir on top of the handlebar to the top with brake fluid, then i slowly pump the fluid into the line by unscrewing the bleed valve and screwing it in while also squeezing and letting go of the brakes. It's sort of hard to explain but there is a rhythm to it. Once you start getting the fluid pumping through the line you can knock off screwing and unscrewing the bleed valve and just slowly pump the brake while watching inside the reservoir for air bubbles escaping from the brake system. You should feel the brake becoming more responsive and tight as you bleed the air from the system. Once there hasn't been any air bubbles for like 10 squeezes then top off the brake fluid in the reservoir (doesn't matter if you put too much, just have a towel or rag wrapped around the reservoir to pickup spills) and put the rubber piece back in, then the plastic piece and finally the top metal cap for the reservoir. Screw it all back together and enjoy.
I know, not the best way to do it, but I have used it to change brake fluid in 5 minutes. Takes more time to get all the special brake bleeding and filling tools together and get started than it does to just do it the "ghetto" way.

No it doesn't take any time to put a syringe on the bleeder valve, takes longer to remove the caliper. I can completely change the fluid with a syringe in 5 minutes flat, from starting to take off the plastics around the reservoir, to putting it all back together. And there is no need to bleed when filling with a syringe attached to the bleeder valve, it's a one step process.
