I was curious if anyone could possibly suggest what my problem might be with my scoot.? It is time again to get out on the pavement but it seems that my Aeolus is not cooperating. I can get on the scoot. and attempt to crank it and at first it is turning over as if it is trying to start, then after two or three attempts Nothing happens, it is as if I have no power. I am certain the battery is charged and ready but all I can do thus far is disconnect the battery and leave it off for a few minutes and re-connect the battery and it does the same thing as before, it will turn over as if it is going to start then again.. Nothing. I believe I am in a position to where I need a new set Left and Right control switches, not sure if this is my problem of if their is another culprit at work here. Has anyone had this problem and if so any advice would be helpful.

Okay, I know everyone has been searching for remedies and I appreciate it:)
anyway... I got this scoot to crank today, this time, I left the charger connected while I did it. It fired up rather quickly. I recall on the old forums (scootdawgs) that someone mentioned something concerning the battery size. I replaced the batter a year or so ago and I am almost certain I replaced it with the exact size that came in it. However, this post I mentioned stated that you needed at least a 0.9A battery.. the one I have is an auto craft 9-BS it is a 12v std. 0.8Ax5-10hr. Could it be that this battery is not working enough to make this beast work?

howdy, for a start, i'd check the voltage of the battery before starting. that voltage should read better than 12.6. after starting and with engine reving is should read 13 volts or better. if the voltage is low before starting , it could very well be that a cell has gone bad with the winter rest i'm assuming it had. if the after start voltage is low you could have charging issues. disconnect battery cables and clean and re-attatch then check the fuse connections in the positive connection lineand ground connections. you may find the problem that easily and it is a good start to seeing the battery and charging circuit health.

Howdy again! Shalomdawg I just tried to crank it and it eventually caught hold and turned over a few times.. then nothing. Then I checked the battery and it read 12.44 v, with that said.. it is near 12.6 but is it still too weak to turn the engine over? I replaced this battery I am thinking a year or so ago, I am not saying it is not the battery.. I just want this thing to crank when the owner says "crank scooter"...... I know their are other components to the cranking system and if I have to spend more money I just want to be sure it is what I need, my funds are limited. You mentioned 12.6 setting.. and it is not reading that high, but close. It is acting like it did before I bought the last battery (which is this one). It worked fine all summer.. but I am back to square one. Anyway.. if anyone knows that it is more than likely the battery I will for sure go and replace it. Do these batteries charge once the scoot is running.... obviously I do not know much about scooters ha ha, I just hop on and go, but I would love to know more about them. I bought the manual to this thing but honestly.. it seems to only mention the parts and not much else.

Okay!! Yes.. I admit it...... I can be an Idiot! I went back out to where this beast sits! I stare at it a few moments.... I wiggle the wiring at the battery.... I stare solemnly at the connections... Positive.... Negative.... (nothing happens at this moment of course). I go back in.. grab some sand paper..... and come back out and scrub the connections...... hook it back up and.... crank.. crank.. IT STARTS! I turn it back off... and RE-START IT... she purrs like a kitten. I read across the battery while it was running..... 14.47v.. so I must assume the battery is ok. By the way..... looking at the terminals... they look fine.. no rust or nothing
