I was too busy taking care of this little girl to come up with a question this week. So, be macho and get over it.

I'm not sure about more macho, but that dachsie has a face nobody can resist, including the cat!

Very good you recognized the breed. Perhaps you are a fan, I sure am, my wife and I have four, all long haired.

My Uncle and Aunt had a red smoothie. Gretchen. She ended up quite wide across, but never really deep up'n'down. Aunty Ruth made pancakes every Sunday morn for breakfast, so that Gretchen got hers. She lived well into her late teens. That even though at the end she couldn't manage the one step from porch to ground, and Uncle would lift her down/up.
And a dear friend had a mini black'n'tan smooth. Sausage. She won the very first Weiner Dog Nationals held at the Woodlands (former greyhound track in KC, KS). He has this awesome photo of Sausage sitting up on her hind end, one paw resting on the trophy that was quite taller than her.
Good dogs. Devoted and loving. Although not afraid to let you know their minds. Quite possibly one of the very best of the small breeds.
Give that little cutie a biscuit from me.
