Looks like a part of the air filter box, check if something is missing there

I recently got a new 170cc chinese scooter and in the middle of taking things apart, checking and putting back together, I noticed this laying on the garage floor and have no clue where it goes or if it even goes on the scooter... any help would be appreciated. That goes inside of your air intake box.

I've searched inside and out of the airbox and can not find anywhere the it will attach to. My thought was the airbox but it doesn't seem so or can I see where it would go
I bought a dongfang from powerrideoutlet.com... it's advertised as 200cc but in actuality it's 170cc... its a zippy little critter...love it so far.

Apparently, out of six quadrillion images available, there is not one image on google of the inside of a stock gy6 airbox. I would show you mine but it is siliconed together because the previous owner was obviously a gorilla who enjoyed tightening screws and bolts down with all of his might. leaving them stripped out and useless. If your bike is like mine and you have one of these, and inside of it, over to the left, you will likely find one of these, and over to the right you have one of these. In the box there will be a ledge or groove that mates with the groove on your part. Air flows into the box, from right side to left side through your part, and then over to the air filter. That's how it works on my bike anyway. What it does, I don't know. I assume it's there to aerodynamically help stop large or heavy objects or water from getting to the air filter or to control flow. Good luck.

Thanks for taking the time... my airbox is the same with the same filter. I'll pop it open tonite after work... also do you happen to know where to find a replacement filter? I've been to a lot of online scooter parts and can only seem to find the round ones that attach to the carb.

You could also search ebay for "gy6 stock air filter".

Thanks again... I actually saw pcc motor logo on the pic you posted of the air filter and they have the filter... Do you know are these cleanable or should I just swap out for new when dirty? They are $11.00 so not a big expense to change them out.

Same box I have, and they are a bear to get out/in the bike. The first time I pulled mine out I thought I had cracked the snorkel working it away from under the body, but looking more closely it had already been glued once. So, guess what. I glued it again.

I have an old K&N from a VW that I thought about clamping some radiator hose to, but I don't want to mess up any EGR system stuff.

seamus26 I'm running a hose connected to a uni filter. All my emissions stuff ended up in the bin next to the air box.
