Take a compression test on the motor and divide by 14.7 to get your approx ratio. For example if your compression comes out to be 150psi divided by 14.7=10.2 ratio, 180 psi divided by 14.7=12.2. Alleyoop Forget all that wiki noise and just make it easy on yourself.

when i done heads with big valves if the person wanted very high compression i would not chamfer the combustion chamber and the compression would be well over 200psi....thats only if it was ported proper...millsc would know.....be safe..buford..

buford1488 Thanks for chiming in Buford, I was hoping you would read this. Looking at the combustion changer on the head I'm working with, the rough edges, vs a stock head, have been cleaned up. Hope all's well..
