Yeah, the frames are different... for one, the fuel tank on the 150's is in the hump, on the 250's it's under the seat. Better air flow for the radiator.

This Grom has a CRF 450 motor in it. You can do a 250 swap if you are willing to spend enough time and money.

I just need to get a bigger bike, preferably a few hundred cc's. I can get a 750 honda motorcycle but I'm spoiled by the ease of work and no gear shifting of the scooters. These, I think, are the next step up as far as technology goes, but the bigger scooters are a bit stout in price. I'm going to wait until winter and see if I'm in a better position to buy something bigger.

I got to see one yesterday. The underseat storage is much smaller, the tank is under the seat, and there's nothing between the radiator and the motor. Definitely more to it than just an engine swap and adding a radiator.

Mostly I have got to the point where a scooter is what it is, and if you aren't happy with it, get a different one. People throw these machines away for lots of terrible reasons, but mostly because they don't want to pay to fix them or can't find anyone to do the work. If you can do it, then you can just scoop up what you want. Sell what you have. After a while you learn how to deal with the State registration people.

Just an update: I have a 250 version of this bike now. It has the gas tank in the hump but a 250 engine in the back. The vin number matches the title which says it's a 250. I guess these things can in various setups unless this was modified and the titled rewritten to show the bigger engine. Someone has put a switch on the side of the seat area for a fan switch. When I get the scoot opened up I can see more. Maybe this is a hack job.
