Good read. I have a similar thread on another forum. Too lazy to post twice and loading photos here kinda sucks. Have fun and keep on posting...... Thanks, I appreciate it! ...and, as a fellow lazyperson, I also appreciate your level of laziness. Why do the 50's always seem to look cooler then the 150's and 250's? I love the looks of that bike... Beautiful pictures! Thank you! The bike is actually the 150 version of this model. I was originally torn between this and the EVO...and then I saw the Quantum...but I decided to go with my original choice of the Powermax 150. I wouldn't be able to make due with a 50.

I'm with YOU! I've posted before about the phenomenon... Some of the BEST looking scooters are also the smallest! I love the chopped-off noses and short-coupled frames, small wheels, etc. of the 50's. I too wish makers could emulate the proportions of the fifties in the bigger-displacement scooters! I can't fully explain it, but I am an artist and I believe some things just look better in a smaller size.
I think Captaincrunnk's ride is a 150 though, and, one that really DOES mimic the best 50's in a great way. Definitely a sharp scooter! Genuine "Buddy" scoots accomplish this very well too... All The Buddies (50, 150 and 175cc) share the same small frame, wheels, etc. and look great.
Ride safe,
Leo in Texas

Got a little ride planned with some friends and their bikes later on today. The weather is looking kind of cruddy, so hopefully it holds up til later when we can all meet up. If it still happens, expect new photos.

I don't know what's more impressive, the matching pink sneaks or the board shorts mixed with riding gear over NJ Northerner white legs. LMAO!!
Looking at your scoot tho, that thing is begging for some performance mods. I can just see the looks on faces when that lil thing lifts the front tire from a dead stand still. vroom vroom!!

Looking at your scoot tho, that thing is begging for some performance mods. I can just see the looks on faces when that lil thing lifts the front tire from a dead stand still. vroom vroom!! Hahahahahaha... I know, I know, the paleness of my legs is astounding - especially in contrast to my much darker arms which aren't visible at all. Who likes to wear pants a lot? <<--- THIS GUY. Would you believe she bought riding boots/shoes when she got the rest of her gear but then she threw on that pair of sneakers that she's had forever and they matched everything too good for her to not wear them with her gear all the time now? Her gloves are almost exactly the same shades as her shoes. As for mods, I'm slowly getting there. I did the essential swaps when I got it, but now I'm looking to tune it as best I can. Better variator and some sliders, better CDI are next...UNI filter, higher quality carb & jets and a nicer exhaust soon to follow. ...then we're going to talk about paint & chrome accent pieces like the transmission cover, etc.

Great pics. My closest lighthouse is a mile ride, plus another 10 miles on a ferry to the Bolivar peninsula. Four miles of that route is on I-45 across the Galveston Back Bay. We have a local scooter battalion that made the trip over the back bay on the interstate and lived to tell about it.

captaincrunnk LOL I hate wearing long pants or jeans! One of my biggest gripes about living in DC was that I couldn't wear shorts most of the year like I do here in Florida. I only lasted up there for 2 years before I told my company "we gotta make other arrangements" and moved my butt back home. This Florida boy doesn't do snow!
