Hey all,
I have a 2004 STRADA Euro RX125 scooter that I recently bought about 5 days ago. It's only got 800 miles on the odometer, and rode great until a few days back I dropped it onto its left side in traffic to avoid an accident. It started back up after the drop, but a few miles after that it died in the middle of the road. I haven't been able to get it running since. It will turn over but not start, and the kick-start also seems to be toast. It's been 3 days since then, and I've replaced the spark plug and battery, checked to see if my spark plug wire was connected, which it was. I've checked all of my fuel and vacuum lines, and they all seem intact and connected. I'm not sure what the issue could be.
Any ideas?

Does it have spark? pull the spark plug, snap the boot back on the end and hold the gapped end on the valve cover while someone holds a brake handle and cranks the engine over.
Does it have compression? While the spark plug is out hold your finger or thumb over the spark plug hole while cranking the engine. If you finger/thumb is blown off the hole you should have sufficient compression.
Are you getting fuel to the carb? Pull the fuel line off of the carb and let it dangle in a cup. Pull the vacuum line off of the intake manifold and suck gently on the line. Fuel should then run into the cup while you are sucking on the vacuum line.
Put the spark plug back in (just snug it down good. Too much force and you might strip the threads) Either spray some carb cleaner in the nipple on the intake manifold, or dribble a little gas in there and try to start the scooter. If it pops/trys to run then stops you aren't getting fuel from the carb to the cylinder.
Let us know what happens.

First, WELCOME TO THE SITE!
It really sounds like you have no spark. That's the first thing to check. Gatekeeper outlines how to do it. (You should have the electrode in shadow, as the spark is not always bright enough to see in the sun).
When you dropped it, you may also have damaged one of the "safety interlocks" on the side-stand, or brake-levers. These keep the ignition from activating unless the side-stand is UP, and one of the brake-levers is depressed while starting.
I have inadvertently bumped, and partially-engaged the "kill-switch" and had it shut my scooter down minutes later... I've also opened the seat, and had it engage the kill-switch... We all do it! LOL! If you check all the factory "kill" features; brake-levers, side-stand and manual kill-switch, you may find your trouble. Something may not be "right" or a wire may have come loose from dropping the scooter.
Those are the "easy" fixes to try first, and often will solve the problem.
Hope this helps,
Leo in Texas
