my 2006 yamaha vino 125 on friday 2014/08/15 a guy in a ford escape cut me off and totaled my bike I had the bike less then a month I put a 1000 RPM contra spring and clutch springs in it on Friday morning.
I need to replace the bike by this weekend as I am going away and was going to take my bike with me but now I have to replace it I would like to replace it with a yamaha bws50/zuma 50 with the 2 stroke engine but I don't have any time to get the performance parts I want can the bike still climb steep hills being stock?
I had a 2009 Honda jazz I took with me a few years ago on my trip and it could not climb hills or keep up with traffic the speed limt is 70km/h and the most the bike could do is 60km/h and the steep hill I went up droprd my speed down to 40km/h and then the bike was never really the same agien.

Tkrocks2,
First, WELCOME TO THE SITE! Next, we're all sorry to hear of your loss. But glad you weren't hurt badly.
In all honesty, it sounds like your riding needs actually call for a much larger scooter than a 50cc, even a hot 2-stroke.
For "spirited" riding, and PARTICULARLY for hills, I found even a Chinese 150 less than adequate. I realize you want a replacement right away, but I strongly recommend you have patience, and at least test-ride some of the air-cooled "200" scooters like the SYM and Kymco which are usually approx. 160cc but light-years ahead of the typical 150. And also, at least try out a water-cooled 250-300 size. These scooters are SO much more capable on hills, and can keep up with traffic up to 60mph or more.
You can find numerous used scooters like these for affordable prices... Especially since the riding season is coming to an end.
Just my thoughts, but I rode a 150 for 7 years, and it never did do well on hills, or in traffic over 50mph. I finally got an old Kymco 250 and absolutely LOVE it! Nearly everything about the slightly larger scooters is heavier-duty, and the performance, while definitely still a SCOOTER, and NOT a big motorcycle, is very satisfying... even up steep hills... LOL!
Again, just my own thoughts, but I have a feeling that if you try out a little larger ride, you will like it.
Ride safe!
